It's not very good.
I wanted it to be good, I would have settled for quite good, but no.
CGI = awful (circa 1900's SyFy channel, and I'm being generous).
Story = Hm, maybe taken from a computer game released in a country ending in 'stan' and not very popular there either
Watch at your peril.
One good thing about the film is, no, sorry, I got nothing.

It's always great to see some practical FX, some live action makeup instead of overly used CGI, but obviously the makeup artist responsible for the baddie has never studied human anatomy before, the guys abs went down past his groin, and his face and entire body looks as if it was made of silly putty , I've never seen foam rubber or silicone look like that, a new low point for the industry. The robot drones were not bad, but the Russians sure love their tanks don't they? Tanks everywhere, everyone loves tanks! I'm not sure if any warrior on the planet would find those round swords useful, but hey, it's superheroes, right? The Invisible girl looked unmistakably Russian, as if she was wearing all the makeup from Instagram all at once, so nothing surprising there, a shame, as she didn't need to,obviously lovely enough. One thing is for sure, they are a whole lot better than the Turkish superheroes, so Marvel need not worry just yet.
The plot is the normal on this movies, a secret project to turn man on super soldiers is shut down and the mentor of this project finds himself with superpowers and wants to rule the world.
This movie has good ingredients to be a good movie, superheroes, fight scenes, nice girls , action, i only gave it 6 stars because sometimes to me it seems like the acting was not at the best, it didn't look natural, look mechanized , if the dialogues where more fluid then the movie would be better.
So , the Russian avengers is a good movie to see and hope it will get better on the sequel.

I am not an action movie superhero person. I loathe Marvel. Tubi suggested this, and I had nothing better to do with my time. I was promised a bear man with a big gun, and it delivered on that and more.
It gives you exactly what you want if you just want to watch a fun movie. The plot was good enough to keep me interested the whole movie. Which is notable, because I am notorious for getting bored 3/4 through most action films.
Almost everyone in this movie, save for the villain is attractive. The fights are well choreographed. The cgi is competent. It's well shot, and in my opinion, well-acted. I was invested in the characters the whole time. The weapons and fighting styles are cool.
If you have some weird parasocial attachment to the marvel franchise and go in wanting marvel, then you'll be disappointed. If not for the numerous comparisons made in other reviews, I wouldn't even compare the 2. Other than the fact these are superhero action films, they're really not at all the same and I don't think there was an intention to imitate Marvel so much as just make a superhero movie.

Felt like leaving the cinema after the first 15 minutes if we weren't out in a group for a birthday celebration. No creativity, no individuality. Tried too hard to be a Marvel movie but fell short with each element a good movie should have. The sets and CG were rather poor for these past 2 centuries' standard. Patchy storyline/editing. My friends and i agreed that perhaps the best actor with the most natural acting was the old professor. Closed my eyes half the time but even the lines were so dull. Finally felt energised when the movie ended. 80% of the cinema crowd bolted from their seats and headed for the exits without seeing the post-credit scenes. I am not looking forward to the sequel even with the Chinese participation...

- TriviaThe movie has some parallels with various Marvel characters. Arsus being a scientist, changing into a large powerhouse, (whos pants somehow dont rip unless in full bear mode) is like Hulk. Kahn moves at the speeds of Quicksilver. When Ler covered his body in rocks he resembled The Thing. And Kseniya has a power set close to the Invisible Woman. Patriot is similar to S.H.I.E.L.D.
- GoofsBoth times when Arsus morphs into a full bear, ripping his pants, he reappears in human form having a full set of pants and boots.
- Crazy creditsIn mid-credits scene, Yelena is transported in a back of a truck by two soldiers. When they open the door, she attacks them, killing one and subduing the other, who, when asked who sent them, says: "Ferrum".
- Alternate versionsWhen the film was originally released in Germany, the dubbing was highly criticized for adding lowbrow humor. To rectify this, distributor Capelight ordered a new dubbing (which reflected the original tone of the movie) and the film was re-released (with both dubbings) on Blu-ray/DVD.
