If you're looking for a decent horror film with good jump scares or a great story line, then avoid this if you can.
This film features everything a bad horror film entails- bad acting, a terrible story line and less than mediocre jump scares. Sure, there's one instance where a jump scare got me but other than that this is one of the most bland horror films I've ever seen, and it features and overused concept that is dying out.
Let also not get past the fact that this film looks like it was made on a student budget, with the crew also serving as the actors (which explains the bad acting). Allan Kellogg should really rethink how he made this film, and given it was funded by Indiegogo I'm not surprised this didn't work out so well. Someone should scold his cinematographer for terrible camera angles.
To summarise this whole review, I would suggest avoiding this film if you see it on Netflix or Sky. I'd give it a 1 but I enjoyed one jump scare, as it's pretty much the only good thing about the film (Besides Wesley, of course, he was the only decent actor/character in the film.)

Just started watching this today on July 16th 2023 at 8:20 p.m. And so far I think they may be doing better then they did on first installment (7 nights of Darkness) but we will see and I will rate it at end and tell you all what I think and I'll give date and time when I am done also. So 9:19 p.m. Not sure how much longer is left but so much better then first installment and I hope you each watch this I'll write more shortly but absolutely plenty of twist and turns just one thing I hate is the negative they speak against Religion and faith on one segment or scene. But in closing I'll say this no one will regret watching this film but if you have not seen the first installment (7 nights of darkness) watch it or parts of this will not make sense. 9:45 p.m. July 16th 2023
I pray blessing and guidance unto all and ask that each take time to thank God for the life you have and by your actions show him your appreciation. Amen.

I still am trying to figure out how this got a 10 from some viewers. During this movie I, fed and watered the cat, cleaned litter box, played a few games then, did my nails. I never did watch the whole movie....it was to painful. Those who gave this movie more than 2 stars are, the actors themselves, friends of the cast and producers or anyone under the age of 12. 10????? Really?????? My idea of movies deserving of a 10 are, Alien, The Grudge, Prometheus and Baskin just to name a few. I suggest anyone giving this movie a 10 go and see how a REAL horror movie is made and acted in
I've seen a lot of bad horror movies. This is awful to a whole new level. Not even so bad it's good. A painful, agonising watch, this is by far one of my least favourite movies. Why would anyone watch this Z-Grade horror film that borrows from The Exorcist, The Shining, Paranormal Activity, and any supernatural horror that's come out in the last century. Nauseating camerawork, thin scares, and awful characters, The Devil's Toybox is horror done wrong. Really wrong.
Creepy doll - check. Abandoned house - check. Hidden cams - check. Demon pretending to be dead family member - check. Paranormal mumbo-jumbo - check.
Yep, this sequel has it all, except characters that are enjoyable to watch. Where the original had believable characters, these are cartoons of characters. This was a disappointing sequel.
