Tim Vine writes, directs, stars in and watches Rocker ‘Brella Fella. Here’s the trailer for his latest independent film.
I’ve seen Tim Vine live a few times now, and happy to be counted as a fan of his stand-up work. After one such gig, I ventured towards the merchandise stand that Vine was sat behind, and alongside the comedy material, two items stood out. One was a CD of love songs, that was pointedly marked as ‘not comedy.’ Then there was also a DVD of a film that Tim Vine had financed and made himself, Library Altitude Zero.

Al Pacino has played the Devil before (in the 1997 film The Devil’s Advocate), and earlier this year we learned that he would be playing an enemy of the Devil in the exorcism horror film The Ritual. Taking on the role of a troubled priest, Pacino stars in the film alongside Dan Stevens of Abigail and Godzilla x Kong, who also plays a troubled priest. We’ll get to see how well this troubled duo fares against Satan when XYZ Films gives The Ritual a North American theatrical release on June 6th, with Altitude giving audiences in UK and Irish cinemas the chance to see the movie a week earlier, on May 30th. With those dates swiftly approaching, a new trailer for the film has dropped online and you can check it out in the embed above.

Sylvester Stallone drives a truck and arm wrestles in Over The Top, and now you can see all this in 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray.
Finally. The best part of a decade into the life of the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format, and we’re finally getting to the lower shelves of the video shop. Case in point, the Sylvester Stallone 1987 feature Over The Top, a film where Cannon Films paid Sly a fortune for a movie that’s ridiculously good fun. A decent double bill with Cobra, I’d suggest, although neither movie really performed at the box office.
Anyroad, Over The Top sees him playing Lincoln ‘Linc’ Hawk. He’s a very manly man, who drives a massive truck and also takes part in arm wrestling competitions. In fact, you can see the fridge magnet pitch: Rocky, but with arm wrestling. Give me Rocky with crown green bowls next.

Film4 is considering the commercial potential of its slate “more than we have done,” said the division’s director Ollie Madden during an on-stage interview at Film London’s Upstream IP pitching event on March 4.

He clarified: “At Film4, [commerciality] is not the driving factor. We have a cultural remit, we’re a non-profit self-sustaining broadcaster. Unlike a commercial company like Warner Bros, that’s not the driving incentive.

One of the dark horses of the 2025 awards season, Walter Salles’ “I’m Still Here” managed to claim the Oscar for best international film on Sunday night from under the nose of long-standing favourite “Emilia Pérez.”
The acclaimed drama became the first Brazilian feature to claim the honor — although several awards pundits suggested the film, a powerful exploration of love and grief set during Brazil’s military dictatorship of the 1970s, had a decent swing at landing its other nominations of best actress for Fernanda Torres and — even — best picture.
But the one win for “I’m Still Here” was enough to provoke wild celebrations on the streets of Rio de Janeiro, where Torres, already something of a national hero, had been named an unlikely muse of this year’s carnival.
As it turned out, the timing of “I’m Still Here’s” awards ascendancy couldn’t have been better for its...

Danny Cannon has racked up a lot of directing credits over the last 35 years, including credits on episodes of CSI, CSI: Miami, Dark Blue, Nikita, Shameless, Gotham, Pennyworth, and Gotham Knights, among others – but he’s best known for making a couple of feature films back in the 1990s: the poorly received Sylvester Stallone comic book adaptation Judge Dredd and the slasher sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (which is indeed canon to the new I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel that’s being made). Now, Deadline reports that Cannon has signed on to direct a high-concept horror thriller called Obey, which Altitude will be presenting to potential buyers at the European Film Market.

Having directed psychological thrillers, music comedies (2011’s “Killing Bono”) and comedy-thrillers based around the famed DeLorean car (2018’s “Driven”), Northern Irish director Nick Hamm has ventured into entirely different territories for his next feature.
“William Tell” is a historical action epic that turns the clock back more than 600 years, delving into the folk story of the Swiss hero who, according to legend, helped liberate Switzerland from the tyrannical rule of Austria’s House of Habsburg. For those with only a loose knowledge of 14th century European history, Tell is most famous for being an expert crossbowman who somehow managed to shoot an apple off the head of his son.
Led by Claes Bang in the lead role and with an all-star cast including Golshifteh Farahani, Connor Swindells, Ellie Bamber and Ben Kingsley, Hamm’s $40 million retelling of the tale explores both the famed apple shot, the precursor to it and the aftermath,...

The deal will allow viewers to stream Seattle Kraken games, as well as the Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets.
As a Denver-area sports fan, I had more access than most to the outrage that arose earlier this week when the Denver Nuggets played their first game of the season on local broadcast channels. Directv Stream and Fubo subscribers were outraged that they had no access to the game, but at least one of those services is attempting to remedy the situation. Fubo announced today it has a new carriage deal with Tegna that will allow it to carry Ktvd in Denver, as well as Kfaa in Dallas and Kong in Seattle, giving fans more access to their favorite teams.
Key Details: Ktvd will carry 20 games from the Nuggets and Avalanche in Denver. Kong delivers non-national Kraken games to Seattle-area fans. Kfaa airs Mavericks games not appearing on national channels in Dallas.

‘Altitude+’ will give fans who cannot otherwise watch Avs and Nuggets games a way to stream each contest.
The 2024 offseason has seen a multitude of NBA and NHL teams craft new broadcast and streaming arrangements to give fans more access to games. The regional sports network (Rsn) model is fast becoming untenable, and teams want to help meet fans where they are by giving them multiple ways to watch.
