Tusen år till julafton

Tusen år till julafton, which had an average audience of 2.3 million viewers in Sweden, is a version of the Swedish show Historieätarna (2012), which itself was based on the British format The Supersizers Go... (2007). That format was created by the production company Silver River, which was sold to Sony Television in 2012. Sveriges Television says that Tusen år till julafton, is their own idea, but Sony believes it's too similar to the original and that they own part of the rights. The two sides agreed that the show could be aired once, but if Sveriges Television wants to show it again, the disagreement would come up again. Sveriges Television has chosen not to take the matter to court.
