I have never bothered to rate a movie before but this movie has certainly inspired me to do so - and not for the reasons you might think. This is an horrendous production which is so bad that you are actually glad it was only 70 minutes long - yet looking back I regret not having ended the movie after just 10 minutes. The acting is really bad, the story line extremely predictable and corny and there is absolutely no suspense. You find yourself watching this movie in the hopes that it will eventually pick up but you are left disappointed to say the least. The movie ends almost as abruptly as this review.
Lame, boring, what could have been interesting was wasted.
The plot is stupid and full of holes and the acting is average.
It doesn't have a point or a real structure.
Bad movie.
The bad reviews this film has received are well warranted, not because the acting is rubbish - it isn't that bad. Not because the script is rubbish - that isn't so bad either. Simply because it is unintelligible. Okay, we understand the victims have been lured to this remote spot by a family of witches; one of them is a killer, and that initially only one of them is a killer. And cannibalism appears to come into the equation, but if you don't understand what is going on...Okay, if there is a psychopath on the loose and he is killing people at random, there is nothing more to understand, but when there is an apparent rational motive albeit a supernatural one...
Obviously made on a very low budget, it grossed less than most A List actors earn in a day. Hopefully the younger members of the cast will go on to bigger and greater things, a very easy task.

Hubby and I (both horror fans) are watching 7 Witches now. About the only highlights - on a comical level - are the multiple "scary food scenes." As hubby cackled before escaping to the kitchen to make dinner: you can't spell Cinnabon without Sin! (But man - even one Cinnabon would be a LOT better than this film!) :P
A lesbian family member is getting married and the family is going to spend the weekend on the site of a disused government fort for the ceremony. When they get there they find that her partner's family live by a very old fashioned and austere regime; almost like you would imagine oldy-world, strict Catholics to be. They say they're descended from the persecuted families of Salem, but are they as simple and innocent as they seem?
I've given this a 4 instead of a 3 because I quite enjoyed it and I managed to watch it right to the end. I nearly gave it a 3 because of the music score which grated on my nerves, throughout. Music is a subjective thing, so I could be being too judgemental here, but this has to have the worst music score I have ever heard in any film I've seen. Some may think it's appropriate for the atmosphere of the film; I thought it was absolutely awful and spoiled the whole thing (for me). That said I tolerated it and got through the movie. Did I regret watching it? No! Would I put it on again if a friend came round? Maybe as a warm-up movie if we had something better to watch afterwards.
