'TRINKET': Four and a Half Stars (Out of Five)

'TRINKET' is a 15 minute fantasy short film, from writer/director D.L. Watson (who also did all of the visual effects and sound design, as well as edited and executive produced the movie). It was filmed in 7 days, over 6 months, and made on a budget of $4,600 ($3,600 of which was raised through an IndieGoGo campaign). The short stars Peter Anthony Holden, Madeleine Young, Hunter O'Guinn, and Abigail Young. It tells the story of a young girl, named Amber (Holden), who must save her little sister (Young) from an evil sorcerer (O'Guinn); after she stumbles upon a magical Trinket in the woods. She finds aid from an old but powerful wizard (Holden). The film is visually stunning (especially for it's budget) and really captures that classic fantasy feel. The acting is all more than decent, even from it's two younger cast members, and the directing is extremely impressive. You can definitely tell this short was made with a lot of passion and was a true labor of love for it's filmmaker. I definitely look forward to seeing more from D.L. Watson!
