As far as fan films go I would say it's good.

Tales Of Dracula is definitely a very good fan film, especially if you consider that the budget was only $20,000.If you are a fan of the old classic horror films you will have a good time watching it. I knew Joe DeMuro played the Frankenstein Monster but I was surprised to learn that Dwight Kemper wrote the screenplay and played the part of the Inn Keeper. The acting was comparable to the acting you would see in many of the low budget Creature Features of the 50's and 60's. Some actors do outshine the others. The names of Henry and Peter Frankenstein is mentioned in the film and because of that I do believe the intent of the story is to be a sequel to the Universal Frankenstein series. It has the look, style and feel of those classic films. The special effects were better than I expected to see, at times I was quite pleasantly surprised.I should stop here before I give too much away and spoil it for you but I will say I do suspect there will be a sequel coming. Thumbs up.

A Solid Return to Classic Horror Cinema!

Wolfbain has produced a surprisingly well orchestrated low budget horror film and every cent of the modest $20,000 dollar budget shows on the screen. It is filmed in that classic black & white approach of Universal's iconic horror films; however the script provided by Dwight Kemper(who is featured in a small role as the Inn Keeper) has infused the film with a Hammer Horror vibe. Director, Joe Demuro, has successfully crafted a strong first entry for Wolfbain and the production team's passion shines through. The acting is reminiscent of the early horror films of the 1930s and 1940s with strong performances from Cassandra Hayes as the Inn Keeper's daughter, Elsa, and Tom Delilo as Crayton Reed/The Wolfman. The cinematography was very well provided by the capable eye of Mike Rudolph, and the sound design was cleverly crafted by Thomas Rice. The strongest element in the film are the makeup FX by makeup master Ron Chamberline. They build upon the grand tradition of Universal's pantheon of classic horror icons and puts new flesh on old bones. There are some weaknesses in the plot, which one can assume will be remedied in a sequel. The performances can be stiff in certain portions of the film, but no more than any film with this kind of budgetary obstacles. All things considered it is a nostalgic journey into the monstrous underworld and a well designed cinematic effort.

    Love letter

I finally got around to watching "Tales Of Dracula" (2015). It would be unfair of me to compare it to a big budget extravaganza like "Van Helsing" (2004). "Tales of Dracula" got so much right that "Van Helsing" got wrong. The most important things that "Tales of Dracula" got right. 1. It was filmed in glorious black and white 2. It was made for the love of the classic Universal Monsters 3. Frankenstein's Monster's and the Wolfman's makeup. ( thank you Ron Chamberlain). "Tales of Dracula" is a love letter written directed and staring a fan that one day said "What if?" What if Dracula survives and returns to his home? What if Frankenstein's creation didn't perish in a fire ? What if the Wolfman sought out Dr. Frankenstein to cure him of the curse? With an estimated budget of $20,000 and a running time of 75 minutes the films best moments are when the monsters are on screen. Though not a perfect film it is a fun film and it was nice to see my old friends as I remember them in black and white and not CGI images. The film is a available on DVD at Oldies for around $6.00 or stream it for free from YouTube. And remember my friends as always keep it scary

Decent Budget Classic Horror Entertainment At A Fair Price

This film exceeded all of my expectations. I ordered it online for a Halloween treat and it was on my doorstep by 5pm October 31! Although the Horror genre was a first love for me as a teenager , I really thought my tastes had evolved. This film has renewed my interest in this genre. Often amusing and pleasantly scary, "Tales" revives the classic spirit of the B&W era by combining the three most legendary monsters: Dracula, The Monster and The Wolfman. Beyond pedestrian with excellent writing and master shots, models and makeup, you will have to suffer through some novice acting but it is more than made up for with the writing, photography and score. Even the story is compelling and creative. Obviously the filmmakers were enthusiastic about Classic Horror or they couldn't have invested so much time, money and effort! Overall if you go into this picture thinking it's going to be another agonizing re-write with bad character acting you would only be half right. It's good! If you can't get enough of this stuff it's highly recommended!

    Good Low Budget Tribute

I saw this at a friends house when he put it on since we are both fans of classic Universal horror films.I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at how well this was done on a obviously limited budget. The B&W photography and special effects were quite good and plot decent.I would dare to say that a sequel must be intended as the way the film plays out.I also liked the narration that brings the story together. The performances by the cast were a little uneven but that is to be forgiven on a shoestring budget. The performances that did stand out were Dracula.Anton,Elsa and Father Thomas. It did seem that this film was made by fans of classic horror who put a lot of love into their endeavor.I highly recommend and hope to see a follow up.
