The current overall rating is about right at 3 to 4 stars. Not a memorable movie or one to recommend to a friend as a 'got to see' but not a complete waste of time either. If one enjoys the body switch sub genre then a person could do worse than The Sex Trip. If this is a new directorial debut then there is hope in future endeavors.
I must admit that I had hoped for a bit more than what "The Sex Trip" turned out to be. Granted, the given storyline and plot was very generic and mainstream for a comedy of this sorts, but one is allowed to hope.
Turns out that "The Sex Trip" was just your average comedy of sorts, sure with a sex swap change, but hey, that has been seen in many other movies already, so nothing outstanding or unusual there.
With that being said, I will say that the movie definitely is watchable and enjoyable enough for what it turned out to be - another run-of-the-mill comedy. While the movie was utterly predictable, it still followed a very common blueprint of how to make such a movie, so director Anthony G. Cohen was playing it safe.
Now, I don't really get why Frank Stallone is billed on the movie's poster/cover, because he was in the movie for like a minute. Sure, I get that it is the Stallone name that did it, but come on. Also found out that Tom Hanks has a younger sibling that looks uncannily like him - Jim Hanks. At least his role was somewhat bigger than Stallone's, but still not one that would warrant being billed on the poster/cover.
The movie was nicely carried by the performances of Jade Ramsey (playing Edna), Marc Crumpton (playing Eddie) and Louis Mandylor (playing Steve). So they definitely made it possible to sit through the movie without being bored to tears.
All in all, "The Sex Trip" is adequately entertaining, albeit it is horribly generic and predictable.

The Sex Trip is a marvelously done theatrical presentation. A classic retelling of a timeless tale, presented masterfully by the genius mind of director Anthony G Cohen.
It's not a blockbuster, however it's enjoyable. Great to see Louis Mandylor aging so gracefully. Not to give anything away, but his buddy insights are unique when inspiring Eddie to embrace the situation. Not the same old conflicts. 8/10
No pun intended and I don't know why they didn't use that instead of the .. one line they actually used. If a pun is that easy to obtain ... you have to go for it ... talking about going for it ... well no I don't mean to offend you. But if you are easily offended - some of the jokes here surely will achieve that! The movie does cross a line from time to time - but in its silly nature, making fun of everything and everyone (yes also the men in it), it can be forgiven - it will be up to those watching though (no pun intended) and their sensibilities.
That said, the silly nature of the movie matches the way the actors go about it. Yes we have seen body swap movies before. And you may even argue that you have seen better ones (surely when it comes to quality and even social statements and so forth) ... but this is so much insane fun ... with crazy ideas. And while it touches upon some taboo subjects (would you do it? Oh you know what I mean ... and no I can't answer that entirely and truthfully myself either) ... it never goes off the rails.
Still maybe it is too much for you. And certain resolutions seem to come too easily ... but again, don't overthink it ... don't be too harsh and just enjoy the funny moments this has in store for you ...
