A comedy masterpiece it is not, but if you like daft comedy, this is a film you'd enjoy.
Yes, the whole thing is daft, but it's not trying to be anything other than what it is! There's some really dark, humorous moments in there and it's an easy watch.
Some really good performances too set against an unconvincing backdrop. It's more like a play so the authenticity of the scenes and cinematography aren't as important in this film in my opinion. It's a bit like This is England meets Shameless, crossed with Sean of the Dead.
Don't expect Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, just enjoy it for what it is. Some will love it, some will hate it.

A funny film in places, if you like black comedy, British trailer trash like Shameless, you will like this
Strangeways Here We Come.
A group of oppressed Manchester scallies in a high rise, rise up to get their own back on the loan shark whose been making all their life's a misery. Featuring a b list of soap actors and would be comics, it's a poor attempt at either social realism of a comedy. Films that cater to drug taking audience always come across awkward and embarrassing, like living in this level of destitute of poverty is a right laugh NOT Filmed around Salford, the boys club features prominently, alas that where The Smiths comparisons end there. I'd love to have heard a snippet of The Smiths or Morrissey. It's a shocker, but in its defence, I did want to see how the film ended mainly to see if it improved..,,,

Silly, but not funny and inconsistent, really says it all!
Shambolic with no original ideas.
Locations (council block beautiful gardens and brand new empty garden shed) not inkeeping with the story settings and lack of blood after the crime, all are too noticeable as the plot is weak and does not grasp.....
Not a comedy, looks amateurish/student production.
PS
There were 5 (out of 9 only votes) giving this film "full marks" i.e. 10 Stars.......!!!????
Since my vote 4 **** (+ this review) there is a 6th 10 Stars rating. Those can only come from people with a vested interest!
No-one with genuine unbiased view/taste can rate this film a 10.
I know the area this was filmed in very well, and the filmmakers got it down to a tee.
This isn't a film for all, with drug taking being a major part of it, a little violence, but it hits the spot so often with its comedy, I laughed out loud quite a few times.
All the actors involved give it their all, and appear to be having a blast.
The storyline is fresh and unique, I didn't see where it was heading until quite a way in.
Knocked a few points off as there was a part near the end that just didn't make sense or ring true, and this spoilt the ending of the film a little for me.
If you're broadminded though, I'd recommend a viewing of this, and if you live in Pendleton, you must see it!
