    Fight Valley Knockaround girls

    "No spoilers"

My opinion of the movie "Fight Valley" appears to be different than other reviews written so far. I actually enjoyed a lot of aspects of the movie:

I liked Meisha Tate's role as Jabs, even though she is not an actor she performed very well. I wouldn't mind seeing her in future films. Its refreshing seeing a fighter who has the potential to act.

I liked Cabrina Collesides who played the role of Jamie, She was believable in her character. For instance, some of the girls it felt forced either the way they dressed or came off as a hardass, Cabrina just fell into the role smoothly like it was really her and not a character. She didn't seem to be "acting" for example, Yanni felt forced and far fetched trying to play a ghetto girl with an attitude. It seemed she did more googling of how to live in the hood then actually being in the hood. And Windsor (that's another thing all together, she was simply NOT good).

Gracie, played by Ivy Lashawn Coleman did an amazing job as well. She was very intimidating on screen, always causing trouble and starting beef with the knockaround girls. And she was really pretty.

Duke, played by Erin O'Brien was a pleasure to watch on screen. She brought it! She may be tiny but she's got fight. And all of these girls did a great job, so i disagree with some reviews here saying ALL acting sucked, because no not everyone was a shitfest.

Windsor was a joke to watch, so maybe because she was the lead and had to carry the film, people don't look at the co-stars or supporting cast who played their roles without looking fake. Bottom line, Jabs, Jamie, Gracie and Duke KICKED ASS, and the score in the film really pumped me up when the fight scenes came about. As a whole, I give this movie an 8/10. Its a good movie (could've been better with the casting of certain roles) but all in all go grab some pizza and sit down and relax and watch this movie.

An actual MMA beating is preferable to this steaming excrement

If it were a student film, they'd barely pass, despite their $27,000,000 budget! (Could've fed 14k African villages for a decade - yes, I did the math).

Plot summary: remember that episode of friends, where Monica's millionaire boyfriend Jon Favrau wanted to suddenly become the UFC champion? That's the plot here, except with an all female cast in the ghetto.

The script is as stale as Adam Sandler's rotten tomatoes average. The acting as stiff as the late Roger Ebert's jaw.

Everything is awful. The sound, the cameras used, the editing, the sets, the make up, etc...

The single redeeming feature this film has is it's numerous lingering shots of Miesha Tate's ass.

Imagine Brock Lesnar reciting Shakespeare; same thing.

An hour and a half of your life you will never get back.

First off Holly Holm is prominently featured on the cover of the movie yet is in it for all of 10 seconds. Now that I've got that out of the way on to the movie. This will be short and sweet. The acting, editing, sound, and anything else you can think of that's involved in making a movie is all horrible. The acting though takes the prize as all "actors" involved were so ridiculously bad that I started to think it was a joke, but my friends, unfortunately the only joke was that I watched the whole movie. The "actors" didn't seem to know when they were supposed to say their lines and most times their mannerisms didn't match what they were saying or supposed to be doing. The only reason I watched the entire movie is that I was not watching it alone because if I were alone I would have split after about 20 minutes if that. As bad as the editing was I feel that the fact that the director and actors did such a bad job hindered anything an editor could do with the slop in the can. As far as this movie having a 6.7 rating after only about 10 or so ratings, well I think that can be chalked up to paid for reviews. Either that or the handful of reviews were done by friends and/or family of the film maker . Truly awful!!!

    Unwatchable

The movie is so bad, so bad, SO BAD that you will feel your IQ dropping. Acting = 0/10 Story = 0.5/10 Direction = 0.5/10 Screenplay = 0.5/10 Cinematography = 1.5/10 Fight Choreography = 3/10

    Verdict: UNWATCHABLE

I don't think Meisha or Holly or Cyborg are superbad actresses, considering they acted almost as good as Ronda Rousey, but the truth is, they can still try their luck in big blockbusters with more action and less dialogues. Cyborg actually does look menacing in her role. So with proper direction, she should be able to land a role in the next Expendables movie.

    Surprisingly... not bad !!

So being a Miesha Tate fan, i had to watch this movie. The trailer kinda gave me the vibe of a very cheap indy flick, which it is partly but somehow not bad at all for such thing.

The story is actually interesting, i did get emotionally involved in it, and if you want to see Miesha Tate movie debut, well she does have a real role in this. Holly Holm? Just a cameo, i guess they put her as the focus of the cover box because of her title win, cause really she is just a cameo. Cyborg is not too much in it either, and her acting is not good, i guess this is to expect as English ain't her first language from the start but thankfully since her role is small, it pass fine. Miesha really surprised me, i wouldn't say she put a "great performance" but she wasn't bad at all in her acting part. The other actress goes from decent to not too good, but they are not bad enough to put the movie in danger of looking awful either.

The fights? Well i have read lots of reactions to them and i would say this... They are "passable" if i can say. There not very long, there basics, they do there job OK to advance the plot, but clearly it show the director and fight choreographer are both very inexperienced in filming such things.

Movies like Never Back Down for example had much much better fights despite involving actors who are not really fighters. But as weird as it may sound, i had a feeling the fights where not the primary aspect of this movie, it was the plot and how it unfold, and the emotions involved, which surprisingly i got into.

So ... maybe its because i had very low expectation but i was pleased with my VOD rental... I would say if you treat this movie as an indy low budget film, it does a decent job. Forget about the 27 million budget on IMDb page, whoever put this is bogus... If the budget was 1 million i would be surprised... There is nothing costly in this movie beside maybe Miesha Tates pay check lol.

    • Trivia
According to director Rob Hawk, all three of the major fighters - Miesha Tate, Holly Holm, and Cris Cyborg - maintained an emotional distance to each other during production. In particular, Hawk sensed an "invisible wall" between Tate and Holm which he believed stemmed from developments in their competitive careers that had Tate being replaced by Holm to fight Ronda Rousey for the UFC Bantamweight Championship.
