I loved this movie. It's entertaining and not too serious.
I liked the Prohibition theme and mixing vampires with rum running was a clever idea.
Ice-T is as expected. The other cast were mostly good. The action scenes worked.
I found it to be a perfect way to kill a few hours.
Not the best, but better than most movies in this genre.

This movie was definitely not my cup of tea. In fact, I only managed to endure 50 minutes of the ordeal before I turned it off out of complete and utter boredom.
There simply was nothing interesting to the storyline, nor the characters, and I quickly lost interest in the movie, but still, I opted to give it a chance and managed to endure 50 minutes. But the movie was just lacking on all fronts, and there was nothing entertaining here for me.
Initially, when I saw that it was Ice T that was on the cast list, I was ready to skip on the movie. Yeah, I can't claim to be much of a fan of him neither in movies nor music.
But still, it was a vampire movie, so I decided to watch it. But turned out that the vampire aspect was a mere backdrop to the movie.
I am rating "Bloodrunners" three out of ten stars, solely because it did have some adequate production value. But for terms of entertainment, then this movie failed to provide any for me.

This movie really isn't very good. At all. Acting is terrible, dialogue really bad. I LIKE low-budget, cheesy vampire flicks, and this was just. Bad. All around. Hey it other people liked it, more power to them, but I almost gave up watching it a couple times. I don't get why the rating is so high, I've watched 4 star flicks I've enjoyed much, much more.
Oh poor Ice T, how the mighty have fallen. The overall story had some merit & the setting of vampires "running" blood out of a small town, that finally drives them out (sort of) was intriguing enough to warrant a watch. But I was wrong. The dialog = atrocious. Acting = worse. Action scenes were beyond silly. Attention to details (see goofs) was awful. Ice T was still a presence - but why was he in this?
So basically, "Bloodrunners" is about a bunch of gangsters in the prohibition era who are vampires. It sounds stupid, but the film ends up being (surprisingly) a bit of fun to watch.
Not only that, its dialogue and acting is cheesy, its special effects aren't that good, and it looks pretty low budget. Somehow, the film holds up from all of these problems. One of the pros come from its nicely done pacing.
It's simple fun. Don't go into it expecting it to be the next "Godfather". It's not the best, it's actually very far from the best, but it's just simple movie fun.
Overall, if you're looking a quick and cool movie experience, you can watch this. 6/10.

- TriviaThe location for the "dungeon under the speakeasy" was an ACTUAL speakeasy back in the 1920s. The secret room was hidden under the Star Hotel in Marcus Hook, PA - a port frequented by sailors back in the day. The original hidden stairways and plastered walls can be seen in the movie.
- GoofsA shipment of bottles from Canada is encased in crates bearing the maple leaf. The maple leaf has been a recognized symbol of Canada since the 1850s. However, Canada was still flying the Union Jack in 1933 and didn't adopt the maple leaf symbol, until October 22, 1964 and was proclaimed into law by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (the Queen of Canada) on February 15, 1965.
