    Vote No!

Much like politics in America, the ratings on this movie are split. Don't be duped, vote no on this "comedy". Even if you try to watch it ironically like I did, vote no.

I had to make a review because this movie doesn't deserve the 6.1/10 rating it had when I watched it. I think the positive user reviews for this film have skewed those results. Strangle most of the positive reviewers only have 1 review.

2/10 because I did laugh a couple times, but mostly because I had fun with friends talking about the other things we could be doing instead.

Funny but rough around the edges

This film has some very funny moments! Despite strong performances by Evan Hall and Dylan Walsh, the acting can be a little tiring. The content of the film is topical and is sadly probably not that far fetched. The focus on sexuality is a little off-putting as well. Terrible musical score. If you're a fan of politics and okay with often crude comedy, check it out. The story takes some time to get going when Guy Poppet's character tries to fix Washington's corrupt political machine. My favourite part was when a politician was asked if he gave a woman an STD he replied, "I did not send flowers to anyone". The budget was probably limited as apparent from characters always came to the main character's small room. Also, lighting and dialogue was not very refined.

    Laughing At Hypocritics

I am a political junkie. I live in Washington, D.C. Never worked on the Hill. Know many whom have. Recognized the usual suspects this flick satirizes. The satire is brutal, truthful, a full body slam at the hypocrisy on the Hill. The focus is on the most hypocritical: The flag lapel wearing -- (Not that there's anything wrong with wearing a flag lapel ) - The flag undershorts wearing -- (Well, what a man wears under his pants, even if he's a politician, is his own business) - The Red Staters. (Well, somebody's gotta represent those folks.) Some in the era of Donald Trump might accuse the producers of piling on the pain. Others might excuse them. The flick depicts "conservative" politicians, the hypocritical ones, as selfish egotistical sex maniacs.

And the flick is a boy meets girl. Boy looses girl. Boy gets girl story. And it's a retelling / updated / 21 century take on the 1960 Billy Wilder's flick, "The Apartment." Here, the boy, a member of a powerful U.S. Senator's staff, uses his D.C. apartment as a place where high powered politicians can entertain hookers and hos, and do the dirty, whether its whoring or snorting coke. Also as the result of a devious act by a character, whose identity I won't disclosed in this review, many of the boy's high-power clients and their "hos" show up at the apartment at the same time to use the facilities. And what follows is a wild and zany, comedic sequence that is purely Marx Brothers-ish.

There's slapstick, and many funny lines. It's an enjoyable flick, for folks whom enjoy laughing at the foibles of the powerful.

    A must watch

C street is a very beautiful movie. I enjoyed every bit of it. One good thing about this movie is that it's so relateable to many real life political stories. I also like the love twist being used to tell the story which makes it different from other political movies I have seen, which are largely so serious. This movie passes the message across using laughter as it medium and keeps the attention of the audience to every detail. This is the first Peter James Iengo movie I would be seeing and I look forward to more! Overall, this is a great movie, a mix of everything; politics, comedy and romance. It's a must watch movie. Great job guys!!!

Shows Washington's hypocrisy, with a side of romance

C Street is a satirical look at the side of Washington most people don't think about. If it refers to any real life figures the references escaped me, but the portrayal of politicians and their hypocrisy is well laid out and there is enough satire here to keep you entertained for its duration. The romance side story feels a little tacked on and some comedic scenes linger past the punchline, but all in all it's worth a watch.

C Street is definitely worth a watch if only for the ridiculous things its caricatures say with the straightest of faces, and for the portrayal of the media in way that is sure to make you giggle.
