I like a low budget, quirky film as much as the next person, but Christ on a bike, this movie takes the absolute biscuit
If you think you've got it all figured out from the title, think again.
Garden Party Massacre will make you laugh and shriek and completely surprise you as you watch the craziness the party goers go through in just one afternoon.
The cast was terrific and the assortment of personalities of the characters are more delicious than a crudite platter. Oh and spoiler alert.....there IS a crudite platter!
This film won so many awards, including best film and director and several for best ensemble cast. All well-deserved!
Fans of horror, who have a sense of humor too, will love Garden Party Massacre.
I sure did!
A bunch of suburban friends huddle inside their house after a lunatic with a pickaxe crashes their party and kills their friend. Before long, they're at each other's throats in some hilarious ways.
It took me up until the 20 minute mark to really get into Garden Party Massacre. The humor and performances take some getting used to. Not every performance hits the mark every single time and many of the comedy bits fall flat, but when it works, it works really well and there are enough genuinely funny moments to make it a worthwhile watch. Even better, the film takes some really insane twists and turns right as it's starting to wind down into "been there, done that" territory.

I've waited at least three years to finally see this movie. I'd say it was well worth the wait. This movie was fun and entertaining. This is why more people should support independent horror, because Hollywood can't do it like this. Lots of pop culture references, interesting characters, red velvet cake, and a psychotic killer on the loose. This movie definitely has some really cool surprises and twists that I never would have expected and I dare not spoil them for you. See for yourself and enjoy the epicness. I love the randomness of it all; one minute, it's friends talking, then the next, a killer shows up to crash the garden party. This movie doesn't take itself too seriously. Some of the characters are silly and dim-witted, and that's what makes it funny. It becomes a deadly game of cat and mouse. The movie was a little short. Maybe if this does well and becomes a new cult classic, they'll make a sequel. If you love slashers, garden parties, red velvet cake, and twists, I highly recommend GARDEN PARTY MASSACRE!!
