    Pointless and deceptive

Alright, I rarely enter these conversations, but just can't pass by this one. I watched the entire movie, but have not read the book. I know the book's author, and can assure you he's for real. He's in the movie, is a Baptist preacher in San Antonio, and does definitely believe in Jesus.

That being said, here are some facts that might help any viewers or readers get a handle on the information being presented in the movie:

    1. The claim is made that the Grand Inquisitor, Torquemada, was Jewish. That is not true. His ancestors may have been Jews that were forced to convert to Catholicism, but he was born Catholic and entered the priesthood of his own accord.

    2. A total eclipse of the moon is always perceived from the earth as red tinted. So, all total solar eclipses are blood moons. Nothing special about the color...nothing special about blood moon tetrads.

    3. For purposes regarding Judaism and Israel, the important information was that the occurrence of a tetrad is an indicator of something bad happening for Israel/Jews...not something positive and good. But, be that as it may, on to tetrads...

    4. Speaking about tetrads...occasionally 4 total lunar eclipses will occur in a row. Since the year 2000 b.c.e. there have been 110 tetrads (up to the year 2000). Not all that common, but they do occur. For statistics purposes, the movie presents the data for only the 20th century, which is: 1909-1910; 1927-1928; 1949-1950; 1967- 1968; 1985-1986.

    5. So, here you are...the only one of these 20th century tetrads that could be relevant is 1967/68, with 67 being the Six Day War, which was not, overall, negative for Israel. Using 49/50 is playing fast and loose with the data, as the state was created, and declared its independence in 1948. It's cheating, and bad science, to push the event into the next year. And that's it. THAT is the data on which a book, movie, and religious belief are based???

    6. More tetrad fun: 110 tetrads between 2000 bce and 2000 ce...the entire span of what is traditionally considered Jewish history. Guess, just guess, how many tetrads there have been that have forewarned about any of these events: the Exodus, 13th century bce; David's conquest of Jerusalem in 1000bce; the Assyrian destruction of Israel in 722/721bce; the Babylonian destruction of Judah in 586bce; the return from exile in about 537bce, proclaimed by Cyrus of Persia; the Hanukkah rebellion against Greece (167bce); the BIRTH OF Jesus!!; the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem by Rome (70); the final war against Judah (the Bar Kochba Rebellion) in 132; ALL of the Crusades (from 1096 through 1272); ALL of the years of the Holocaust (1932-1945); and, just to add another, the Yom Kippur War of 1973. Go ahead, guess. NONE!!! No tetrads in all those events...not a single one.

So, if you're looking for data about this stuff, there you are. ONE...just ONE tetrad out of 110. That's, oh, 0.9%...you could randomly guess and score better.

Sorry to be so long, but people should understand that this movie and book are pure religious agenda, trying to convince a reader/watcher that the agenda (which is pretty much purely Christian) is true. All it takes is a little research, (which most people will not do), and one can tell that they're really a deceptive and shameful waste.

    Ugh.

I've no quarrel with "true believers." Freedom to pursue any ideology is part and parcel of our democratic system in the good US of A. However, when religionists line up a battery of so-called "experts" who are no more that other religionists, and in this case a pro-Israel agenda and try to pass it off with a patina of "science," that's when they step on the side of being egregiously offensive.

The entire episode is laced with fantasy, anecdotal reported incidents and in some cases, pure nonsense. Sure, I should have known that this would slanted but ugh! Why didn't they tell us it would completely topsy-turvy?

If you're a true believer, you'll like this movie. As a scientist who is pro-Israel, I hated it.

Don't let bad ratings keep you from watching this.

If you are interested in the Bible, God, the Israelites, and history I would suggest you watch it and make up your own mind. Yes, it's long, but you can watch it in parts which is what I did.

    don't see it

This is complete and utter trash and it is the worst thing I have ever had the misfortune to sit through (even worse than Mamma Mia! and I didn't think anything could get any worse than that). I'm only giving it a 1 star rating because that is the lowest IMDb will allow me to rate it. It. is. terrible. A bunch of narrow minded religious old white men sitting around discussing a bunch of b.s. I am no longer a Christian but even if I was I would find this movie horrible. I wanted to leave multiple times and the only reason I didn't was the people I went to see it with. You may get a history lesson out of it, but that's it (probably not even that, it's that bad). Please never give these people any more money for movies.

    No worth it

Some one just wanted to sell a book. The only one of interest was the scientist who stated if you put enough numbers together you can prove anything. I listed and watched but all it was is a bunch of mini stories without any meat. When they are trying to prove something they need to have dates, people who supported the theory, who did the results, etc.

They made a lot of statements but no proof nor any documentations other then I said it so it must be true.

Not worth the money plus they charged more for this showing then others. We also had to listen to the local pastor who got up there and was trying to get us to join his Church- not cool.
