The Kicks is a perfect TV show for athletic teenagers as they can relate to it. In my opinion The Kicks is one of my favourite TV shows as I enjoy sports related shows/movies and this one hit my standards. Even though it is quite cliché, it has a great story line and is enjoyable to watch.
I recommend this to young teens.
I literally can not wait for the next season to come out. I hope the show stays fun and entertaining. Also the show is very encouraging for young girls to play sports or join a sports team. Great show, totally recommend it!

Good Middle School Drama. Before Amazon Kids went animated they developed this one season series that has a lot to recommend itself. It was nice to see stories around sport that weren't all jocks and cheerleaders. The family wasn't disfunctional. And, the drama springs from ordinary school issues. Imagine - kids making good decisions and character building choices. Some really nice young talent. I give this series a 7 (good) out of 10. {Kid-centric Drama}
I came across this show a fortnight ago on Amazon Prime and it was so good that I finished it in 2 days. However, I was surprised that Amazon hasn't yet renewed it for a second season. I got so hooked that I will read the original book by Alex Morgan on which the show is based as Amazon seems to have gone in a slumber. Devin, the main protagonist is so inspiring who despite her initial struggles manages to establish a deep friendship with her teammates and manages to transform a shambolic team into a team that plays together and wins together. She is determined, hardworking, loyal and yet not perfect which is so realistic. I must add that it is so good to see the way these girls have been portrayed. Strong, athletic, independent and caring and not the usual teen drama that is usually portrayed. The interaction of the team amongst themselves and with coach Rivas is so fun to watch. Also, the football plays were so nicely shot and executed especially that boys VS girls match. The bond between the siblings, Devin and her little bro is so endearing as they are poles apart in personality, yet care for each other. The other characters like Zoe, Emma, Mirabelle are also very well developed.
I must say I loved the show so much that the fact they call it soccer instead of football didn't bother me in the least bit. So Amazon, be good and please renew it for a second season!!!

This is a great show. I have a couple of tweens I watch that love this show. They keep asking when the next season comes out. I looks like the last season ended in 2016 and it is now 2019. It would be great if they continued this series.
Kicks is the best television series I have seen that is both age appropriate and engaging for impressionable girls. With two girls – seven and 11 - this show appealed to both of them for both similar and different reasons. The soccer team dynamics and story kept both girls engaged – plus there was a preteen life-lesson in each episode - that was not too mature for a 7 year old. - The story line was credible and the characters were both relatable and believable. The show was realistic but did not take itself or the content too seriously - keeping the tone light but believable. Really hope the word gets out so the audience numbers will increase in order for Amazon to continue additional seasons. We just stumbled upon Kicks while browsing Prime - as my daughter had read the books so wanted to check it out. -I watched the first show to be sure appropriate for both ages and ended up watching all of the episodes together with my girls. Well-done Amazon!!!
