This movie is one of the few I've ever watched that I couldn't stomach past the first twenty minutes. Viner and infamous asshole Cameron Dallas can't act at all, making him a more than terrible choice for the lead actor in this flick. The other internet celebrities that appear in the movie aren't much better. It felt like I was watching the low-budget remake of Ferris Bueller's Day Off- except Cameron Dallas is not at all as likable as Matthew Broderick. In fact, I hated the character within the first three minutes of viewing. The plot and back story of the film were weak and about as believable as its characters. If you're looking to watch some of your favourite Youtube stars in a film, maybe try Camp Takota instead. How did this ever get a 5.3 rating???
I gave this movie the benefit of the doubt to see if Cameron Dallas was more than a pretty face. Perhaps I should have just gone with my initial instinct.
The acting, at best, is terrible. The principal - whose name I didn't bother to memorize - gives off one of the worst performances. It's almost like he's gritting his teeth and praying for filming to be over. Cameron has about a minute-and-a-half's worth of somewhat decent acting; given that this film will take away an-hour-and-half of your life, that's not a very promising ratio.
The dialogue itself is terrible. It's one thing to have decent lines and crummy actors, but this was a well-rounded film in terms of how badly thought out it was. Let me provide an example for you:
"Aren't you expelled?" "Um.../yeah./"
The entire film is essentially a knock-off of every 80's comedy ever made but with grade-D acting and elementary dialogue.
Do yourself a favor and skip this, regardless of how attractive you might find Cameron Dallas.

I can't believe I just saw this piece of monumental crap. What they where thinking when they made this movie? The acting has zero value. The plot is beyond stupidity. It makes dumb and dumber (the worst comedy of the year) to look like a masterpiece. I want my time back. I've never seen a movie that made me wanna kill myself. What has become of cinema? Who is making movie stars now? Vine? Instagram? Snapchat?. Humanity is lost. If they continue making movies like this I'm just gonna be ready for extinction. I won't recommend this even to my worst enemy. I need to calm down now. Sorry for my English, I used to write in Spanish. The word we use for this kind of thing is: Caca.
Hey, it's a cute, juvenile fantasy. I can't imagine that anyone who chose to watch it was laboring under the assumption that it was going to be anything more than that.
I've never even heard of Cameron Dallas before this. I don't think he needs to start working on a draft for his Golden Globe acceptance speech, but if you're doing a cute, juvenile fantasy, I can think of no one who could have handled the job better... to be fair I have to admit I'm not sure who else might be in the running. Occasionally he delivered his lines like he was reading them for the first time and I suppose his bubbly enthusiasm might wear thin much longer than the 90 minutes or so this movie ran, but I really can't see why some reviewers were so negative. I'm sure he'll be a hit among the presumed target audience for Expelled.
The idea of some school kid bored to death with school and then engineering some elaborate, unrealistic schemes to undermine the smooth running of the school, to deceive his parents and to outwit adults who are portrayed as clueless drones, is hardly original. The "pranks" and antics Felix & Co. pull off are childishly improbable ... I don't think anyone was aiming at realism ... but then it was fairly amusing in a absurd sort of way.
I'm pretty sure the goal of the production was to make a silly, laughable bit of fluff and in that regard, they were pretty successful. Felix and his co-conspirators were fun to watch. Great theater for all times it was not, but some of the rather angry, spiteful sounding reviews appearing here suggest their authors really need to lighten up and look at this movie as a bit of fun, not as an attempt at a profound, thought-provoking social commentary.
I'm giving it a 7. Probably deserved a 5 or 6, but I feel the need to compensate for some of the over-the-top critics.
