Low cost family entertaining teeny weeny comedy, also severely animal friendly so let fuss and pipp have a look too. Love british actors when with good pronounciation and 'earable diction, funny story in a way of moviemaking thats dying out, namely the crank and prank comedy. Grumpy old man recommends.
A D minus effort, very much cheesy British tv fair from the 80s, the baddies were annoying, most of the dialog was mind numbing, and the kids were like a hang over from the 80s, fake rebellion and wishful outsiders, probably written by some old f@rt longing for their lost youth.
This is well below standard for movies these days, although the locations were nice and low level london street scenes, and some of the actors did the best with what they were given, which wasn't much. Ella-Rae Smith did really well in particular. Actually, some of em were pretty bad.
If you're over the age of 12 then I'll stick my neck out and suggest that this film is not for you. I saw this with my two kids (aged 8 & 10) and they loved it. They haven't stopped going on about that matchbox creature.
For me, it reminded me of the films I saw when I was a kid - it's not a Marvel film nor a Harry Potter by any stretch but a low budget film aimed at a young audience. If you've got kids under 12 then I'd say give a go - they will love it.
Bye-bye.
I was so happy to let my youngest watch this and see positive female characters in a kids film for a change. All 3 of the female leading characters are strong roles and not confined to being the 'girlfriend' like so many other films do.
My youngest is 9 and she loved it!
It's like a bad kids TV show, it's aspires to low budget. Bad on all levels. If you are five and have never seen a a film or TV programme you will love this, everyone else give it a miss.
