This show is just fun. The recent shows from CN have a bad reputation. Just because they are intended for a more younger audience. But I think the majority of these shows are ok, some of them are even good. I haven't seen the original movie yet, I don't think the show is better but for a stand alone thing is not bad. It's not the type of show where are things like character development and an overarching plot but sometimes a show for fun can be good. The majority of the characters can be annoying sometimes, but the main ones are fine. I like a lot Sam. She has a pretty character design. Her character is good too. I like the interactions beetwen her and Flint because sometimes they feel like real Kids. The animation for the show is cute and is easy to follow. Let's hope in the future I will have kids and I will be capable to watch this show with them.
I am going to be honest I was actually excited for this show I love cwacom. Then I saw an episode and didn't think much of it other than it being boring. Then today I saw another episode and oh god... why. First of all let me go through the characters:
Flint: Not too interesting he's pretty much trying to be jimmy neutron but not as good, he isn't cool like he was in the movies.
Sam: God she is just boring! She is girly and uninteresting she's not at all like she was in the movie. (I may have over exaggerated here)
Earl: Man what did they do they turned this guy into a teacher and did nothing with his funny tough personality he's now a man child who just teaches and isn't even a main character.
Steve: they actually didn't change much about him but he isn't with flint as much.
Tim: Same as Steve.
Brent: Him and flint aren't even friends anymore he is basically the school bully stereotype.
Mayor: He is the modern mr. Krabs OK maybe not that bad but he is up there he is i think the principal. Also didn't he ditch everybody and escape in the first movie? I wish he would've drowned.
Alright that's the characters now to the episode I watched. The main joke was farts... why? Just why did they do this flint makes a bean that makes him fart so he can add something to the school. And they have equations and stuff that says grossness can be used to convince someone to agree with you? Again why did this go into the writers nonexistent heads? Overall its not the very worst cartoon so I gave it two stars for trying because not all the jokes are farts like some cartoons... cough ttg cough but I would stay away from it if you liked the movies

I love it! It is cloudy but there is a chance of meat balls! What kind of stuff is going on here?
I know this show isn't as good as the movies but when is that ever the case? Movies have budgets way, way higher than TV shows do, and they have star talent for voices, and so on. Also I think this show is meant for much younger kids who don't have the same demands for good story and so on. This show is fine for little kids and we adults don't have to watch it (it like many other shows can get annoying with the silliness and over the top sounds and so on).
Really enjoyed the first film on first watch and still do. The second film had a lot of good things and was entertaining, despite some flaws. Also was raised on Cartoon Network as a child and it was great for many years until shows like 'Johnny Test' started getting made. There have still been good shows made post-2008, such as 'Over the Garden Wall', 'Young Justice', 'Steven Universe' and Seasons 1-3 'Rick and Morty', but on the whole Cartoon Network has been nowhere near as good as it was.
'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs' is a good example of why. It is not quite one of the nadirs of Cartoon Network, being not as bad as 'Johnny Test', 'Uncle Grandpa' and 'Angela Anaconda', but it really is not a good show at all. Compared to the films, it couldn't be more of a polar opposite in quality and does not do them justice in any way. 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs' also does not stand well on its own two feet too, not everything is a wreck but very little is done right and at the end of the day the point of it can be questioned.
The best thing about it is the animation, which actually does have some nice background detail and some nice colour.
Quite a lot of the colours are however somewhat flat, transitions are not seamless and the character designs can be blocky. The animation is far from awful, but there is nothing here and that is wow worthy or imaginative. The voice acting is rather generic, didn't get the sense that the voice actors' hearts were in it, hence why the characters felt so vanilla. While Steve and Tim are sort of recognisable, the characters come over as very dulled down in personality and have lost what made them click so well before.
Furthermore, there is nothing creative or smart about the writing, which is not funny or has any soul or emotion and any attempts at humour are more childish and juvenile than witty and sharp. The storylines lack energy, are thin and are not just predictable and have no imagination but the show really ran out of ideas in the later episodes and had a repetitive feel. The music is not very well placed and is not that infectious either, not much to be excited by.
In summary, very bad and pointless. 2/10.
