    I'll take it

It is hard to make a sequel to a movie like Joe Dirt 14 years later. The story of Joe was very much summed up in the 1st film. But the fans wanted more and more is what they got. This movie follows the path of the original. Similar if not the same Jokes. It pays homage to the 1st film giving signature words and phrases from Christopher Walken and David Spade. The production quality is there. The score is there. The cinematography and the color could be better in my opinion but that is just one mans opinion. If I had went and paid to see this film at the theater as I did to "Dumb & Dumber to" I would have been just as disappointed. However it was a free film and so like the title says. I will take it. I will watch it, I will enjoy it & I am sure I will watch it again. Because sometimes it is just plain good to see a character or characters come to life again on your screen. Whatever screen that may be.

The Tennessee Top Hat is Back

14 years later Joe Dirte (as he likes to call himself) is going through another saga. He married the love of his life, Brandy (Brittany Daniel), and they had triplets (three daughters: Dakota, Cheyenne, and Abilene). Everything was cool in the Dirt world until his daughters saw him being victimized by his coworkers (a fart joke that went waaaay too long). It was then that Joe Dirt figured he had to be different/better to gain the respect of his three little girls.

Joe Dirt was not in need of a sequel--but truthfully how many movies are in need of sequels? But considering the plethora of sequels out there--with the majority of them being awful--this wasn't too bad. David Spade had the same mannerisms, speech and gullibility of Joe Dirt. Brittany Daniels was still the gorgeous love interest. And even Christopher Walken reprised his role as Clem. That's where the parallels stop.

It was not quite as funny and that was really just the writing. It didn't have the same appeal, even the story wasn't as captivating. With all of that it was still entertaining enough.

    Not Bad

Well this is not the greatest comedy but it is good for a few giggles. You can do worse - much worse than this little flick.

Worth watching if it comes on TV and you've nothing better to do or watch.

    4/10.

    Yet another disappointing summer sequel

I genuinely enjoyed the first Joe Dirt. It was at times funny, touching, and was actually a fairly well made movie. I cannot say the same for Joe Dirt 2. Despite this film only streaming on Crackle, it managed to get the same cast as it had before. David Spade, Christopher Walken, and stuck with the same director, Fred Wolf. Yet everything about this movie is off. The jokes fall flat, the plot is boring, the acting is horrendous. There are the occasional jokes that hit their mark, but its not enough to make up for everything else wrong with the movie. The other problem I had with the film, is that they practically copied everything from the first one. You would think that would make this film good, if you liked the first movie; but that is not the case here. The plot is almost the exact same, which makes it boring. Some of the jokes are the same, yet their jokes that were only funny the first time. And the cast is the same, which after some time into the movie, becomes redundant.

Despite its unique, unpredictable path to existence, in the end, "Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser" falls victim to the regular traps of the comedy sequel.I gave this movie three stars, and thats because i only laughed three times throughout the entire film. Joe Dirt 2 may not be beautiful, but it is a loser.

the subtlety and innocence of the character was completely gone.

The reason I liked the first Joe Dirt a lot was because Joe Dirt was a likable and kind of an innocent character. The first movie had some crass jokes and it had some dark humor in it, but Joe Dirt was always the shinning star of the story. He felt like a real character that was just down on his luck, the humor might have been silly and gross at times but Joe Dirt was still an innocent, Naive, good person looking for his parents. That was the core of the story. A good guy that did not have the best life and wanted to find his family. What do we get here? Just a cynical version of that character.

the subtlety of the character is completely gone. This felt more like am actual mean spirited Parody of the first Joe Dirt. there was nothing deeper to this movie than just the jokes and the cameos. Say what you will about the first movie but it at least tried to have a heart underneath all the jokes. What happened to "Life is a garden, Dig It" what happened to that? that's my point. This movie felt like if it was written and Directed by Robbie (Kid Rock) from the first one. The same exact thing happened to the Dumb and Dumber sequel and the Vacation sequel. any kind of innocence and naiveness those characters had was replaced by foul humor. Not sure what is happening to comedy anymore. Everything is just loud and obnoxious today.

    • Trivia
David Spade grew out his sideburns and facial hair for this movie. The original used his natural facial hair and synthetic hair glued on to look fuller.
    • Goofs
Joe meets the Galinda on the bench in present day, then recalls his story. In this story he ends his journey and meets her (for the first time as the story is in his past), finding out that she is a guardian angel. He recognizes her as the woman on the bench, but as this was the first time he had met her, he should have recognized her at the start of the movie as the guardian angel from the past.

Missy: These boys giving you trouble?

Joe Dirt: Oh, no, Missy, we're just funning around.

Missy: Can you keep a secret?

Joe Dirt: Yeah, I guess so.

Missy: Then keep this a secret.
