It adapts primarly the first book

So first of all, Emily of New Moon is my favorite novel of all time, so I was completely excited to see that there was an anime adaptation of it. The animation was pretty good and I loved how they animated most of the iconic scenes of the book. However, I would say it's only a good adaptation of the FIRST book, since it skipped most of the second and didn't put much of the third, so if you expect scenes from those, well you will be disappointed. That said, the adaptation of the first book is pretty great. However, I would still recommend to read the books before watching the anime, since well you will only get some bits of it in the anime.
