During pre-production of The Christmas Party, actress Cat Van Dot approached writer/director Dominic Ryan about their characters and expressed interest into knowing more about the movie the audience won't see - after the party had ended and how they dealt with their situations. Dominic then went away and wrote After The Party in one night.
