Elsa is preparing for Anna's birthday, but a cold sends a few things awry. "Frozen Fever" is a short opportunity for the characters to strut their stuff, especially Olaf. I understand that "Frozen 2" is currently planned, but I don't know how they would continue the story. I think that any continuation would have to come in short snippets like this one. Both Elsa and Anna have brought a more complex dimension to the world of Disney princesses.
In the end, I found this to be a good short. The cast of "Frozen" returns to voice the characters and gives them real vivacity. You'll probably enjoy it.
John Travolta is never going to live down that mispronunciation of Idina Menzel's name.

This short film tells how Elsa and her friends prepares for a big feast to celebrate Anna's birthday.
The two recent animated shorts from Disney got nominated for Oscars because they were very good. This time round, it is obvious that "Frozen Fever" is mainly a commercial premise that capitalises on the runaway success of "Frozen". The plot is warm and fun, and the two princesses sing new songs in brand new dresses. The jokes are funny, especially the one involving an anagram. However, I think it lacks the sparkle and the truly heartwarming magic of Oscar winner "Feast", or the beauty of reminiscence of the Oscar nominated "Get a Horse".

This short is no surprise, considering "Frozen" and its merchandise made zillions of dollars for Disney. My feeling is that the story itself didn't really matter...the studio just wanted to get anything "Frozen" back into the theaters. So, they reportedly took a song cut out of the original film and made a story about Elsa planning a birthday party for her sister, Anna. The story is nothing special and I would say the same about the song that is sung throughout. The only real special thing about it is the CGI--which is once again breathtaking. And, it also introduces the Snowgies, which I assume were created just so that Disney could market even more "Frozen" stuff to the kids.
The bottom line is that if you adore everything "Frozen" you'll probably enjoy this. To me, it just felt second-rate and nothing more.

It's Anna's birthday and Elsa is determined to make it a "perfect day" in order to make up for all of the birthdays she's missed in the past. While she takes her sister on a treasure hunt for presents around town (bumping into some familiar faces), Kristoff is left in charge of guarding the decorations.
All seems well, until Elsa's cold starts to cause havoc; let's just say that when a Snow Queen sneezes, there's a high chance that's she'll end up polluting the area with extremely hyperactive "snow babies". Will the day be ruined, or will Kristoff and Olaf manage to keep them in tow?
"Frozen Fever" is colourful and fun, packed with stunning animation and humour to keep both children and adults intrigued. It offers numerous nods towards the original movie (including one "Let it Go" pun to make you giggle) and a catchy song that will surely stay in your head for days.
Be warned "Frozen" fans: "Frozen Fever" may just get you even more hooked than you were before! A solid 10/10

Preceding "Cinderella" in its theatrical release is "Frozen Fever," a short film revolving around the characters from the hit Disney film "Frozen." The short involves Elsa (voiced by Idina Menzel) and her friends Hans, Sven the moose, and Olaf the snowman (Josh Gad) preparing a surprise party for her younger sister Anna (Kristen Bell). Elsa, however, has a cold, where every sneeze produces several tiny little snowmen, sort of resembling Olaf, but she persists on, taking her sister through all of the little decorative zones she has set up for her before taking her to the final party. The short reinforces my believe that the "Frozen" characters are best in small doses, and I only wish now that instead of the "Frozen 2" we all knew was coming, we'd see these characters populate several, extremely fun shorts like this.

- TriviaIn the new song "Making Today a Perfect Day," you can hear at the beginning a little bit of "Life's Too Short," a song that did not make it into the final cut of La Reine des neiges (2013).
- GoofsThe lighting and colors during the tower scene and the party at the castle suggests that the sun is going down. Some sources say that Anna's birthday is on the summer solstice. In Norway, which is the real-life Arendelle, the sun doesn't set for over 24 hours on the summer solstice (hence why it's called "The Land of the Midnight Sun"). However, this is only the case within the Arctic Circle, and we see both day and night in the original film, which would suggest that Arendelle is south of it. The Norwegian town of Arendal (which is the origin of the name Arendelle) is itself south of the Arctic Circle.
- Crazy creditsDuring the Disney logo shown at the end, the shooting star that typically flies over the castle is replaced with a snowbie that jumps over the castle, and if you listen carefully you can hear soft chimes playing the tune of "Do You Want To Build A Snowman?", from the movie.
