In a near future where synthetic life is indistinguishable from humans, a man begins to question his identity--only to discover he's an android copy of his former self, implanted with the memories and emotions of the real man who died. As reality unravels, so does his sense of self. Part of a series of film vignettes produced in collaboration with Flynn Brothers Studios, 'Critical Failure' is a proof-of-concept short film created to illustrate how a chromakey stage can be used for film-making when you have an idea and some talented actors, but little or no budget to shoot your project on location.
