German film and TV production has accustomed us to top-notch historical dramas for the past 25 years. The Germans really know how to create a true sense of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s of the Cold War. Especially when it comes to the STASI and the RAF.
This series does not belong to the aforementioned group of top-notch German productions. Deeply at odds with historical facts, it gives a false picture of the time. Savings at every turn, poor costumes at the level of a high school play, a hagiographic approach.
Avoid at all costs and watch Deutschland 83, as a recipe for making a quality fairy tale with a Cold War background.

A very decent propaganda film of the Yugoslav People's Army starring then young future stars of Yugoslav and Serbian cinema such as Lane Gutovic, Irfan Mensur, Aleksandar Bercek and Bogdan Diklic, although the main role went to Branko Djuric (the older actor, not from Sarajevo, not the one from the Top lista nedrealista). This work was partially incorporated into the future educational JNA film "The Behavior of Elders" (Ponasanje staresina), which is a trash classic in the former Yugoslavia.
Although the Yugoslav People's Army was a disaster as an institution and a typical totalitarian brainwash (Serbs and Serbia claim otherwise, everyone else disagrees), due to the semi/quasi-documentary style, it gives a good picture of the seventies in Yugoslavia. Decent direction by Radomir Saranovic. Highly recommended for anyone who likes history and can be viewed for free on the Youtube.

From Blade Runner to plenty of Tarkovsky, fascinating beauty and visual style of the 80s that represents the best of that area. It beautifully accompanies the U2 song. Meiert Avis was a director who defined those years.
Each new viewing of this short work reveals a new nuance. Unfortunately, today in the first third of the 21st century, there is no particularly good music, and there are no good music videos either. This may sound like some kind of nostalgia, but it's hard to imagine today that the audience could even recognize the aforementioned references. I do hope I'm wrong.
