The last thing anyone who watched the original would want is a retread of what we've already seen. Putting a serious take on TFPOBA is not only proper in this day and age, it shows respect to the source material. It isn't trying to replace it. If you feel your childhood is ruined by this show, you're childhood was flimsy and contrite. Bel-Air is for a new audience to enjoy, while giving the original audience something "Fresh". It takes the foundation of the original show and gives it a more realistic take, updated for today's climate and tells a compelling story with great characters dealing with real issues in their lives. This isn't a sitcom and that's good. They have a story to tell. I say let them tell it without nostalgic bias.
Let me get this straight: The "competitive" aspect of this show is based on a dance that makes the dancer move like an inflatable waving arm man? That's what they went with? I sludged through the first episode, so my review is incomplete, but nothing grabbed me in this one. I have no incentive to keep going.
