I've been asking for a big budget, entertaining, stand-alone adventure movie for a long time. The superhero movies are feeling overdone, and everything that's not a sequel is super serious and artsy. This movie was super fun, easy to watch, and really, really well made!

A lot of safe choices were definitely made -every shot is perfectly lit, every actor looks good all of the time, the plot follows a predictable trajectory, and some of the big moments are undoubtedly inspired by other successful action movies - and that might bore some folks who think movies should exclusively be edgy and artistic, but sometimes there's an art to just making something that's easy to enjoy! And this movie would be easy to enjoy with almost anyone.

All the Kingsman movies have had very impressive action sequences and this one didn't disappoint. The way they film the choreography seems as thought out as the choreography itself. This one was certainly more serious than the previous films of the franchise, which I actually liked, but it still had lots of over the top scenarios and funny moments, true to form. I also appreciate how they don't always pull the punches for their characters, things go wrong, plans fall apart, and the characters have to adapt. It's much more engaging that way!

You can take this rating with a grain of salt because my wife and I couldn't stomach more than half an hour of this movie. The writing was so blatantly hammy that I was expecting it to be ironic, but then it wasn't.
