Once again I ask myself, who writes something like this?
And who reads it and says yep, we going to make a movie of this?
A bunch on very one-dimensional characters tries to escape while using the most idiotic and nonsensical dialog I have heard in a long time. Add some really bad acting to it and there you are.
This could have gone many ways, but went the worst.
It feels like somebody read "The Dome" by Stephen King and thought he could recreate the premise, only in a naive and downright bad in any way imaginable.
After a while I started skipping forward and never felt I was missing something along the way. I am glad when it was over.

First of, I quite liked the first one. It was not the greatest movie ever, not by a long shot. But it was quite enjoyable.
Here we have a "typical sequel" in the worst kind of way. It takes bits of the original one and weaves it into into a very obscure second part that does not make sense at all.
I was looking forward to seing Uma Thurman again, but her role is actually rather small, not interesting and not very well played.
They opted for fight scenes rather than substance or at least a storyline and the result is just boring, pointless and disappointing.
Worst of all, it looks like they are going for a third part, which I will definitely NOT watch.

I really have a soft spot for movies that feature strange quirky characters, locations and circumstances as long as they are well made and enjoyable.
The likes of Wes Anderson, Jean-Pierre Jeunet or Paul King I can watch again and again.
Mr. K. clearly tries to fall into this category, especially the nods to Wes Anderson's style are unmissable.
Sadly, it holds no substance at all, not even a plot to be honest. More like random scenes stitched together just to keep up the ´weird´.
There's nothing wrong with it on paper, it even looks good. But it is missing the ´movie´-part in favor of being just strange and unsatisfactory.
