This movie is overrated. The expectation was great but this one doesn't add up.
The actor direction is weak, the story isn't focus on the real characters, some have been swapped.
If you really want to see a good adaptation, give a shot to the mini-series of 2000 in 3 episodes.

Political, neat, edgy, stirring and incredibly funny, "Tout Simplement Noir" transcends its nature as a sketch film to offer a fascinating portrait of a France in the midst of identity introspection.
I won't turn around the pot: this is a waste of time.
The idea could have been cool, like the books we used to read in the 80's but it doesn't work. We can't really chose meaningful things or paths. Our decisions are "which kind of cereal will he eat" or "which music will he listen".
The episode consists in a loop, we don't really influence the story and we are permanently rewinded to a previous step if our choice doesn't really match with the storyline.
The scenario isn't good at all and surfes on the wave initiated by Stranger Things: too much 80's kills the 80's.
