This film made for family entertainment is about the father son relationship in a boy scout military setting. It is also a mentor disciple relationship which brings the message of hope and wisdom. I think it's wonderful. The film's 30min are pretty slow, the pacing is nice, but the film is so beautiful to watch, nice shots! Ups: cinematography is Top! Background design en nature scenes, Top! After the slow 30min, very exciting. Earth is created nicely. The chase scenes with the CGI; Big Eagle bird, Big Cats, baboons and Monster attack are unforgettable well done. Acting is a bit childish but good. Directing is nice, except for a scene or some character flaws, I find it not important.

The downside is: The dialogue writing is not good at all, Kitai is a pretty serious lead which makes the film a serious note. Cypher (played by Will Smith, Kitai's dad and mentor) is too serious , almost a Denzel Washington look. I am used to Will as a tough bloke with great humour, but this movie is not funny at all. The Direction has a small problem, why is The Big Bird Eagle issue not explained? She has a dilemma with the attack from the climbing Big cats. The final conclusion of the story could be better, but this movie is so beautiful to watch - Mr Dir Shyamalan must be fascinated by National Geographic. I loved it! 8-10!

I liked the storytelling in this film. Also the plot twists were pleasant and although the end was predictable the storyline is captivating. The romance was realistic, but sometimes a little exaggerated. Rachel's story should be more developed.

The actors were good, the decor was brilliant and the cinematography also.

The flaws I've seen so far: Time errors? No way you can get a baby that fast. Factual error? In this movie some scenes go by too quickly without a good transition of time. Revealing mistakes: Crew equipment and mike visible in at least 3 shots.

In despite of some flaws a good cinema film.
