i am straight. but, i didn't see this movie as straight, gay, or whatever. it's love. pure love. any individual who has loved or has been scared to love will truly relate and be moved. the visuals are great and symbolize how big true love is. it's bigger than all of us. i was convinced by the two lead actors. i was also very impressed by michelle williams. as for anne hathaway, i was shocked to see her in a role like this. however, she played it well and she did her purpose. everyone in the theatre cried. it was so real... nothing about it was exaggerated unlike in most Hollywood movies. this deserves to win at least a best actor award. i would love to see this movie again in the future. but not in the recent future because i don't want to cry for the next few months.
i really didn't plan on watching any movies this week. but, i'm glad my friend and i decided to watch ako legal wife. it's super funny. the surprise was zsa zsa padilla who was hilarious! she was great in her character. technically, it really wasn't that amazing. and once again, the script wasn't as intelligent as could be. but, that's pinoy comedy for you. and since i'm pinoy, i loved it. it mocked some filipino Chinese traditions. so, if you're a sensitive filipino Chinese, don't watch this movie. it was quite an exaggeration of colors and other things, but it made it all the more funny in an ironic way. the character of john pratts was my favorite. he reminded me so much of a good friend in school who has the exact same like story.
at the time, i thought Titanic was pretty OK because i was into Leonardo di Caprio. but watching it now would be a struggle. in King Kong, i wasn't in love with anyone in the cast... yet, i didn't feel the drag of the three hours. but, i still think that they could have done away with some scenes that used too many special effects. for me, the story would have climaxed without them anyway. jack black was so right for the part because he is obnoxious! but he cracks me up! there were a few comic reliefs in this movie... but always in the right time. if there's anyone i fell in love with in this film, it's the ape. i couldn't stop crying for him.
