Quarantine 2" Terminal
Quarantine 2 is a surprisingly low-budget but entertaining movie. Q2T explores the intersection between our obsession with crazed-filled zombies, domestic bioterrorism, government complacency distrust, and overpopulation. Q2T touches on each of these topics as it seeks to entertain and exploit our personal idiosyncrasies and fears about them. Only a fool in this day and age believes that germ warfare is the sole sphere of conspiracy theorists. Given the level of malcontent by many groups in Western Civilization, Bioterrorism at the hands of its populace is as likely and is as possible as bioterrorism from other bad actors. In this regard, Q2T is relevant because it is a commentary on human behavior, group dynamics as well as what we believe about our government.
A disturbing theme that gets played out continuously in movies such as Q2T is that when zombie-style viruses are concerned, the government does not come to save you but to contain and neutralize the threat. That this theme appears in virtually all such movies should be a wake-up call, as we should not expect anything to the contrary. Conspiracy theorists might claim that this narrative is repeated to the population to get them prepared and used to the idea that bioterrorism is real and that our death may just be collateral damage, a mere contribution to the cause of saving the human race.
As there is no real protagonist in the movie we are left to examine the group dynamics or roles. There is the usual cast of characters such as the heroes, villains, those who make the ultimate sacrifice, the young, old, cripple, sole survivor, and most all the obnoxious guy. Most of these folks get unceremoniously picked off one by one by the cliché of the zombie bite. There are no surprises here. You know that death is coming to each of them at the prescribed time by the super-strengthened, rage-filled fast-moving zombie. Still, it is entertaining to watch.
As with many viruses, this virus also is spread by rodents and bites, human on human and rodent on human. Again, no surprise here.
The movie ends as expected, a sole survivor and the escape of an infected rat. There is nothing original about this movie other than the location - an airport terminal. Nonetheless, it was enjoyable to watch.

The Tomorrow War - Predictably Warm and Fuzzy but not Philosophically Plausible
Displace and Replace movies always leave a bad taste in my mouth because they are inherently unavoidably about immigration. They are movies that trigger unconscious and subliminal feelings about "the Other" and the violent threat posed by a hostile entity, that seeks to destroy civilization and a way of life. The connection is unavoidable. These movies almost always portray the alien species as violent, thug, and murderous, just as illegal immigrants are portrayed.
Having pointed this out, it should also be noted however, that The Tomorrow War is a different type of time travel movie, because it is less about time travel and immigration and more about a singular philosophical question, what do we owe future generations and what sacrifices should we make to assist them to solve the issues of their time? In this regard, the movie slaps us in the face with the very notion that we owe future generations support and sacrifice for their issues, but ignores the fact that we do nothing as it relates to issues they face in the present day. That the human race somehow can care about future generations but can't care about the existential threats facing present generations is patently absurd and unbelievable as a storyline. Modern civilization could care less about their children and grandchildren.
Tomorrow war promotes the lie that humanity is benevolent and will make sacrifices for future generations. This is worse than the worst of lies because it is propaganda fed to the masses to make them believe something about our species that is patently false. Though entertaining, movies that promote this false narrative provide a positive feedback loop that perpetuates mythology about the human race. Personally, I'm not a fan of this sort of moronic scriptwriting. Others have and will attack this movie from different perspectives and rightfully so, there is so much wrong about it. But those were my thoughts.
