I remember being on my cinema seat that day, saying to myself Holly Molly st F..g Mary!
First encounter with the Drive director, was most transcendental, quite lonely too due to the language, mainly cinematographic. So yes it's quite a playful ride for image fluent translaters.
Don't expect a usual Viking movie, here must be it's one most personal coming from its Danish root we have the Viking story, with a very specific pointview, one of the pioneer.
Just put it in perspective with the cinema itself, you have a true en epic visual adventure.

At first, this Danish landscape appeared pretty flat, but the diversity of characters and their own struggles gives much relief to this serious dark dive.
This take on the matter, carefully presents each of them, without stigma (mostly) and lost of pace, make the whole realistic and we'll balanced.
Characters and actors quickly turn around an apparent déjà-vu feeling I first had, you get attached as the storyline unfolds.

What a cult little phenomena, with one brilliant Joel McHale, it reviews all TV (mostly Us) in all its ridiculous, along its satirical take. Nevermind the tiny format, it's all fun with the great running gags, legendary catchphrases (think what ....., Etc), good plays with guests, unexpected segments and truly magical recurring characters (mank....., Etc).
The host plays a aimed-to-be sarcastic (, nihilist?) typical characters is very well handled by Mr McHale who turns out to offers something somewhat cult, iconic and hilarious.
