I liked the movie a lot more back in 2000. The sets and lovely scene transfers are glorious. The script, violence and overall story is almost bad, not quite but close. Anyway I guess now that I am older I look harder at whether the movie is actually good and whether it is just action and spectical. My rewatch left me unimpressed.

I know some people are going to disregard all logic and facts and be OK with this movie somehow thinking that Bill Murray's character had a few good qualities which nullified all of his bad ones. Not me. This is an embarrassing movie but it does once again demonstrate how screwed up the religious bible thumpers are. Wow. And just for context I find good in all sorts of moview (look at my review list to see how easy I am for instance in Hallmark movies). Anyway, this is an insulting horrible movie that has absolutely no one to admire - not a single character in this movie is either believable or worthy of admiration.

I have probably reviewed a dozen Hallmark movies and i am always very easy on the grading because Hallmark is about comfort and familiarity and feel good. And I am a fan of Kimberley Sustad's other Hallmark movies.

Anyway, this movie is confusing, set up terribly, has no chemistry with the leads. It is just a hot mess of blah blah blah. That other people like this movie is pretty amazing - probably the fake patriots who think anything military is the most wonderful things ever and any movie that remotely is on topic is great.

So there you have it. A complete embarrassment of a movie from start to finish (Hallmark desperately trying to salvage this disaster in the last few minutes.
