Despite being low budget and old (the only flaws of the movie) this is cinematic masterclass.
The viewer gets drawn into a labyrinth of the human psyche. With themes ranging from coming of age, religion, beliefs, desire, influence of parents and other authorities.
These themes are so well woven into the script and filmed in a way that it is rightfully called a classic.
Furthermore these themes fit so perfectly into the folklore of vampires, werewolves and zombies. They do not only fit. I think this is one of the best movies out there that get it right. Because that is what I want to see. I don't need love triangles or Van Helsing as a Vampire slayer.
Everyone who still loves Murnaus Nosferatu. This will not dissapoint!
Robert Eggers should watch this movie or again if he has to learn how it's done.

Anyone who just compares Juror #2 with 12 angry men misses the point entirely.
Clint Eastwood tries to film modern ideology into not only the courtroom. Even more into society.
Eastwood reflects on why there is so much going wrong today. This is not a movie about guilt. It is about a what's right.
Is it justifiable to lock an innocent troublemaker away so a nice person, who was not even aware of being involved in the death of a young woman, can live his life?
This is the fundamental question. And there we have Eastwoods conservatism. Eastwood truly believes in law and does not even for a moment thinks otherwise. Especially like in the movie for personal sensitivities. Of course everything is allegorical and you can transfer this topic into other modern themes of social institutions.
Thank God for Clint Eastwood.

Terrifier 3 has in my opinion many problems.
Where 1 establishes Art as an antihero the second part establishes the counterpart. But where do you go from there?
Terrifier 3 simply goes to a new environment. Christmas. That's basically it. Sienna and Jonathan struggle with the aftermath of Terrifier 3. But they do not evolve. Everything we see we know already from the second part. In the second part the movie guesses that they might be demons or some supernatural force. Know we know for sure so to speak. But the movie doesn't do anything with it.
Then there is the Christmas theme. Christmas is a very difficult environment and I think the only good horror movie with a Christmas theme is Silent Night Deadly Night because it plays with the psychological effects of conservative beliefs and consumerism. Terrifier 3 could have been a movie like the opening sequence and the mall scene. Unfortunately these two scenes are like 20min of the film. The rest is just bloody business with no substance. Doesn't matter if the setting is Christmas and that's a missed opportunity.
