I remember reading the book as a child, and then watching the movie. I am glad it stayed true to the book because it really didn't need changes.
I have not seen this film for a while, but it remains fresh in my mind as a beautiful, enchanting, great movie. The cast were all excellent, particularly the girl who played Sara- she was exactly as I'd imagined her, and should have won an Oscar. It was certainly to those standards. The soundtrack was also part of the reason it is such a great film. The music is beautiful and makes you feel like doing what Sara does: dance, wave your hands up and twirl around. I also think it is better than the Shirley Temple version- which although it wasn't that bad, it had some added scenes, such as the ridiculous dream, which took away the charm of the story, and also some important deleted elements of the plot, such as Sara's friends. I was disappointed at that version, but this 1995 version left me feeling satisfied, and it does every time. It's a feeling of having seen something well done, just right, put together in a way which will not fail to move you.
I applaud and congratulate everyone who was part of this film- it is one of my favorite films ever and a masterpiece.

I've only seen this show once by chance but I am trying to see when it's on so that I can see it again. It's that good. I was laughing so hard I nearly awoke most of the family (it's on late at night) and can still remember some of the jokes, they were that good too. I definitely would encourage you to watch it.
Well you know what they say, laughter is the best medicine... (or something like that), well after watching this show, I can honestly say that I agree. This is a good program to watch if you're feeling down and want some cheering up... or even if you're not, it's funny. as much as "Buenafuente" or even more.
Definitely try and see it, you'll find that it's worth it.
