This is the least "Star Trek" like movie I have ever watched. Having said that I was glad I watched it to the end, though I was tempted to abort mission a couple of times. The start was overly complicated and fussy. I didn't engage with any of the characters until almost the end. It had potential to be a decent movie but never quite found it's groove. As a life long trekkie I have a preconceived expectation of a certain format that defines Star Trek. A strong leader with some personality quirks is expected. Being a psychopath does not fit the bill. Again, I did warm to some of the characters towords the end. But all in all my wife summed it up well when I asked her what she thought of the movie, her answer: " Meh"
First off, I am a fan of the original Omen movie. I can understand why other fans have given the 2006 movie a low score in order to put some distance between it and the first movie.
Aa I write It's 2024 and we now have a brand new Omen movie to feed the id. That spurred me into watching all the old Omen movies in a short space of days.
The 2006 Omen movie, in my opinion, is an excellent movie. It's a faithful reimagining of the 1976 movie that updates it and at the same time pays homage to the original.
I would go as far as to say the 2006 movie is the better version. It's difficult to be impartial when comparing a new movie to a classic, but it's unfair to to be unduly hard for nostalgic reasons.

This documentary is more about the fans than it is about the movies. Having said that we get to see the movies through their eyes. Mad Max fans from all over the world come together to share their deep love for a film franchise that started life as a low budget distopian survival movie. These people are superfans who eat sleep and drink Mad Max. It's a touching look at how the Mad Max movies have affected the actors, the extras, the fans and even the people who live close to the filming locations in Australia. We also get to see the cars, the bikes, the costumes and some interesting memorabilia. But this is about the people, an induring group of devoted fans.
