Consider that this movie was made in the 80s with a budget of probably $60,000 whereas American movies, their budget can be millions of dollars, this movie is actually not as bad as the above post. True, that it did prolong its story, but it's because the director and writers clearly did not read the comics which has great characterization of who Zuma was and how his spawn will be the end of him. Again, consider this movie is a low budget and no thrills. I'd actually watch this more than Superman Returns and his illegitimate son with Lois Lane. Also, there is a remake of this movie coming out 2008 with higher budget and better special effects. Hopefully, it will be better visually, but knowing the crap of movies Philippines is churning out, don't expect X-men.

I haven't seen this movie but I've seen the documentary. The main culprit of their extinction was genocide by the white population incl. disease and starvation. However, why is it in the plot summary it says they clash with other tribes which sounds like it lead to their ultimate demise. If this is how the movie is, then it's another Hollywood propaganda sensitizing the truth. The Yahi was exterminated by white people, by the time of Ishi feuding tribes were unheard of because they've been eradicated by that time. So, I wonder how many flaws and false information are in this movie.

Also, Ishi wasn't found on a horse. He was found hiding in a barn and the owner pushed him down in fear.

First of all, there really is no comparison between the mini and the movie. The movie is fabricated to meet Hollywood's standards while the mini series stays true to the book as it should. The only one who stood out in the movie version was James Dean while the rest of the cast was bland just like the movie. The movie did not even ATTEMPT to build the characters instead the audience were handed a gorgeous young hunk (James Dean) in a silver platter and expected the young tweenies to eat him up. While the mini takes you on a journey and give you a view of the lives of damaged people who eerily resembles our own. Misery, longing, passion and sins. That's what the mini series was while the big screen version was "James Dean + Teenieboppers = $$$$$" movie.
