I left the theater today feeling very impressed by Elio. To be honest I was expecting a lot from a new Sci-Fi entry from Pixar and it didn't disappoint. I did go into this feeling cautiously optimistic, trying not to get my hopes up too much expecting it to be another WALL-E, and it wasn't. Elio very much does its own thing but it did it brilliantly.
Like many Pixar films before it, adults can take away from this movie as much as kids and has a pretty powerful message overall. It's pretty obvious that Elio is on the spectrum but I like how it never really mentions it because I think here it doesn't really matter much in the grand scheme of things, but you definitely still felt that it was there.
The alien designs were very creative and there were some scenes that were just plain wonderfully weird and I liked that! I liked how every alien language was translated into English and then you get a quick glimpse at the end to what they all truly sounded like which actually made me feel pretty emotional, not going to lie.
I also liked how a couple of recordings from Carl Sagan was used in this which I thought was very heartwarming and reassuring, but no Neil Degrasse Tyson which I thought was a little odd.
But overall, if you are feeling skeptical about whether you should go to a theatre to see this, I highly recommend this with a resounding yes! You will get your money's worth and you will not be disappointed!

I really enjoyed this movie and I thought it was on par with the same quality of Matthew Vaughn's previous films. It had the same type of action filmmaking techniques that were used and experimented with in the three Kingsman movies and thought the action was just as good, if not better.
I also loved how daring the script was and how chaotic and unpredictable it was, I think this film pulled 10 consecutive plot twists and it did start to get hard for me to keep up especially toward the end, but I just really loved and appreciated just how fun this was and how bonkers it got as a storytelling ride where I could not telegraph where it would go next.
I liked the chraracter of ARGYLLE and how she was an anxious novel writer. I noticed she did EFT tapping to herself in one scene and I could relate to that because I used to do it when I read The Tapping Solution 10 years ago and still sometimes do it now.
I don't get the negativity surrounding this movie simply because some people think that the story didn't make any sense and it was a massive step down from Vaughn's previous ventures, but I really enjoyed the places this film took me and how nuts and nonsensical the script was. It still made for a really fun and enjoyable time at the movies.
