Encanto is a beautifully animated film with a meaningful story at its core. The symbolism around family, identity, and unspoken burdens is handled thoughtfully, and the film deserves credit for exploring how not all "powers" are flashy. Mirabel's role - essentially helping to heal her family and hold them together - is a quiet but powerful idea. Her gift wasn't something external; it was her empathy, her connection, and her ability to restore balance. That subtlety is one of the film's strengths.
Visually, it's stunning - colourful, detailed, and rich with cultural references. The music is catchy (though some songs worked better than others for me), and the world of the Madrigal family is imaginative and warm.
That said, something about it didn't fully click. While the message is strong, parts of the film felt a bit rushed or underdeveloped, and I didn't connect with all the characters as much as I hoped. Still, it's a good story with a meaningful heart - just not quite as impactful for me personally as I expected.
A decent watch overall. 6/10.

I really enjoyed Lady and the Tramp. It was sprinkled with Disney magic from start to finish. Accompanied by a sweet story, brilliant animation and illustration and strong musical scores. It had all the elements to make it a Disney classic and part of the golden age of Disney films. The story of Lady is captivating from start to finish. The cute love story between her and the Tramp is heartwarming, the iconic scene of them sharing the spaghetti and meatballs was a beautiful scene and showcases the brilliance and creativity of genius. Thoroughly enjoyed that moment and the entire story, really well done and a timeless classic.
This is a popular Disney film as long as you allow plot conveniences and just go with the fun journey. It has heart, shows the importance of family, friendship and has a good amount of humour to entertain. If you don't think about the wide gaping holes in logic, story and ignore that a lot of things don't make sense, then its an easy fun watch. I feel this entry is definitely more oriented towards children and I am well aware it is a Disney film too. But in my opinion it does not hold up compared to the classics that made Disney the powerhouse it is today. This is not a timeless classic, definitely good for its time but not one for the ages.
