Low budget but very well done. A look back at a time in America when the hot rod culture was moving into the mainstream psyche. Our heroes are good boys bringing their self-built hot rods on a road trip to a state wide drag race, featuring so many great cars and a lot of drag race action. Pre Beach Boys California. Crew cuts, ducktails and totally blown gassers. Charming and entertaining short documentary.

I was the the ORIGINAL video editor on the show and I can tell you that we FAKED most of the "call in" requests when the show launched. Me, the producer, co-workers of mine would all call into the editing suite and tape record the so called the "requests" It was originally a "top request for videos" show. where the viewers call in and give their requests, the audio of requests would be played over the intro of the requested video... but it was all a scam. MTV had their own agenda of what videos they wanted to push and we were expected to "create" their desired results. So I would call in, make up a phony name, pick some town and say " yo, I want to hear Limp Bisket" or whatever... and the public was never the wiser.

Citizen Kane it is not, but if you want a good time, drive in, type movie.. check it out. Frankie A. is a wanna be Nascar driver who drives for moonshiners on the side. He meets the hard Biz woman who owns the track and finds the moonshine drivers, but she falls in love and later on redeems herself.

Fabian is the local race track hero and king of the moonshine drivers. There's a slight twist to his character in the end that I won't reveal here.

Dopey songs, pretty girls and cars... Simple, Family friendly fun with some cool old school Nascar footage to boot.
