Geeze, that last post was a bit harsh. I found this movie funny when I first saw it soon after release, and when I recently watched it with my three young daughters. I thought the pee pee scene was hilarious, and I enjoyed the homages to Moore's and Cook's other works. It's just fun. It's SUPPOSED to be just fun; not deep, not a cinema-graphic classic, but fun. If my kids can enjoy it now, 25+ years later, It can't be that bad,and it isn't. Find it, watch it with a drink or two in your gullet, and enjoy! Not everything has to be a great work of art, you know. We all need to stop being so pretentious with these critiques. You can enjoy Spartacus AND Evil Dead, The Maltese Falcon AND Ice Pirates, You can enjoy this movie too.

If you liked Buckaroo Bonsai, then you'll enjoy Remo. A tough cop gets beaten close to death, and is secreted away to a secret government training facility. With a martial arts master (Roddy McDowell as an ancient Korean) as fighting and spiritual adviser, Remo Williams becomes an almost mystical, although reluctant,secret agent/warrior. The humor mirrors how 'Buckaroo' was done, with as much action and satire as you can handle. Is is important to note that in watching this film, you will also learn the secret technique of bringing a woman to ecstasy in seconds!!!! Joel Grey is fantastic in a roll you would never picture him in. Comical at times, he also makes you believe that he COULD kill you with two fingers. This movie alone made me an instant Fred Ward fan. A martial arts movie, a spy movie, a high comedy, a low comedy, a satire, an action movie...you decide, but I bet money that this becomes one of your favorites!

Well done western, one of the early 'Good guy is not so good' characters. The scene where Walkers tries to stay awake by braiding a circle if thorns around his neck (so he doesn't nod off) shows what a hard case he is. Alex Karras shows some football players CAN act, and Stephanie Powers makes for a pretty distraction. Walkers sheer size, and depth of voice make him a threat to the bad guys, and he handles himself very well, not like the muscle-bound movements you see in a lot of todays large actors. The films stars get dusty, dirty, hungry, thirsty, backaches, tired and trail sore. They don't stay clean shaven, with shiny guns sweat-less shirts. Gritty, hard men in a unforgiving and uncompromising. Real hard cases.
