Short and brief, you always think it is a good movie when after one watch you rewind it for the dialogues. And jeez this movie is rich of those. Stellar performances from a bunch of 'heavy weight' actors, classic talents from the industry. Al Pacino, Christopher Plummer, Bruce McGill, Philip Baker Hall light up the whole plot with constant tension, Russell Crowe as J W is also a 10/10 option as he is absolutely capable of delivering a more complex but softer role (as opposed to many would think). Only Michael Gambon in an American speaking role seems a bit off (but only because he is oh so British). This is a great movie and I recommend it to everyone. Watch it and carry the torch of justice.
11 out of 10 for my most beautiful and bittersweet Christmas story. I still have the original VHS. The drawing is mesmerizing and mystical, the atmosphere is absolutely magical. The Snowman is capable of recognizing our inner child and to heal it, to heal with it. I remember when I was a kid and watched it, it made such an impact, but I could only realize that years later. Now I rediscovered it again and recognized it's beautiful, sophisticated aspects and the impact it made in my life. It truly reflects some of the worst and best memories I had, every time I watch it, I am reminded about them. Keep yourself happy and keep your loved ones close and watch The Snowman, you won't find a more captivating short Christmas story.
