Please spare yourself from watching this. It has to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen, even for SciFi Channel.

Basically it's about four college students (one of them looks 40 years old) who pull a sword out of a stone (how original).

This unleashes a cheesy c.g.i. looking "rock monster" (hence the original title).

This Movie Contains: *The worst acting I've ever seen. *Cheesy effects *Boring plot line & a slow moving pace

P.S. The next time your bus breaks down, and you decide to take a detour through a spooky forest in the middle or nowhere, rather than waiting for another bus, don't pull any swords out of any stones. =]

I've heard 2 complaints over and over again. The first is that all horror movies these days are scene by scene remakes. The second is that all horror movie, like these remakes are rated PG-13. This movie, while a remake, other than the basic plot, has almost no similarity to the original. It also is rated R, with no a lot, but a good amount of blood. Yet, people complain, despite the fact that this, not a great movie, but an enjoyable holiday slasher. The story follows, the same basic plot of the original. An unseen phone caller stalks sorority sisters. In this movie they explain the killer's back story, unlike the original. The movie was not scary. It was creepy though and entertaining. The characters weren't well characterized, but they didn't need to be, because many of them didn't last to long, and you feel like a character thats killed within the first 2 minutes, is characterized better than the major characters. The acting was good, and unlike other reviews, the cast isn't hard to tell apart, as they all get their own personalities, such as the drunk and the nice girl. I also liked the main cast of Katie Cassidy, Michelle Trachtenberg, Crystal Lowe, Kristen Cloke, and Andrea Martin (who was in the original).If you were disappointed with other remakes and modern horror movies, you may be disappointed with this as well, but you can't say you got bored.

Many people are saying how bad and horrible this movie is. I would have to disagree. This may not be an academy award winner, but compared to other SciFi channel movies (such as King Kobra Vs Komodo, released the week after), it is much better. It is probably the bets SciFi original I've ever seen, with the exception of Dog Soldiers. This movie was also not filled to the top with hundreds of C.G.I monsters and effects. Anyone you ask will say, a guy in a monster suit, looks better than some C.G.I monster. The story is about 5 young girls, who go to a cabin, for a relaxing vacation. In the cabin next to them is Preston Rogers, a crippled man, and his assistant Otis. During the movie, many people are killed by this enormous Yeti, as Preston basically watches from his window, the whole movie. Of course the police won't believe that the monster is real. The acting isn't great, but it isn't horrible. Some notable people are in this movie such as Lance Henriksen, Dee Wallace-Stone, and Ashley Hartman or "The O.C". Overall this movie is a good and entertaining watch, with a lot of gore. Abominable is rated R, and stars Haley Joel, Karin Anna Cheung, Lance Henrikson, Paul Gleason, Matt McCoy, and Ashely Hartman
