Growing up watching 100's of horror movies, I felt this story lacked depth. I felt it needed to go a little more into the history of the creature or legend of how he became. Just the little piece (Script) on the intro was not enough for me. I Think the Acting was pretty good. Great show of fear on everyone's faces. I felt it need a scene with, the family possibly before heading to the actual property, maybe stopping at a diner and being told or over hearing someone talk about the myth or legend of the beast and how, rumors of why the father was never seen again. Great scenery, too bad it was filmed outside of the US instead of New Zealand. I also felt they went to fast with the transformation of the man to beast, seemed a little to rushed. Over all I love a decent Horror suspense movie and would watch it again.

Sort of a Rip off of Diane Lane's movie Untraceable. Similar story with a SAW like mentality. Overall enjoyed it with the wife for a late night Netflix movie. Good Acting, I find it kind of hard to think a small guy (SERKIS) would overpower a large Seasoned Detective Like Elba's character. But I guess for the action keep it going. Then take it way out to a frozen tundra Like "Girl in the Spider's web" similarity. It's getting hard to come up with new original stuff. But overall I enjoyed it. Started off very good, kind of lulled in middle with a good ending. Glad they used he original Characters from the series.
