Yesterday i bought the movie the Dreamkeeper because the little scenes i saw on TV during a commercial interested me a lot. I must say that this story was for sure not a disappointment because it is really a beautiful story which is a mix of fantasy, legends and old stories. In this story a boy from the Lakota Sioux tribe has problems because he has a quilt with an Indian gang. His grandfather wants to visit the powwow, which is a meeting between all kinds of tribes from the USA, in which the dances and traditions will be shared. The grandfather wants that his grandson takes him to the powwow and as reward he will receive a car from his grandfather. In the beginning he don't want that but when he realizes that he also has 1 day to pay the money back to the gang than it maybe could be a good alternative to escape. During the trip his grandfather starts to tell him stories which form the base of the movie. During the stories you enter a time of legends and fantasies but with every story the grandfather is teaching the grandson a lesson in life. The maker of this movie also made Arabian nights and you can see it a little back in this movie because the setup is the same because in Arabian nights a woman tells a movie to the sultan she wants to marry. This story really impressed me and i enjoyed it a lot, also because i am very interested in Indian tribes. This movie deserves a 9 out of 10 because i kept my attention for the full 3 hours it took, in one word beautiful and well done.

Saving private Ryan is according to me one of the most realistic war-movies ever made. In the beginning of the movie we see an old veteran visiting the graves of the people who lost their lives in an effort to save Ryan. In this movie we see the madness of war and the traumas which people carry all their lives with them. In this movie a group American soldiers get the mission to save Ryan because in his family already some brothers fell on the battlefield and the code wants that the last brother must be saved. This movie shows actually the madness about the fact that more people have to die for saving one life. The beginning of the movie is very realistic when the Americans reach Omaha Beach and i think that in that time it was like that because thousands of soldiers did not even have the chance to reach the beach but after a long battle the German defence breaks which meant the beginning of the Liberation. The Germans expected that the Allies should cross the Canal so the most troops were stationed over there which coursed weak points in the German defence at Omaha Beach. The actors like Tom Hanks delivered a very realistic movie about the madness of war which some personalities create in this world, even today. A 9 out of 10 they deserve for sure.

I am a big fan of fantasy movies and more if it concerns mythologic episodes. Next to Jason and the Argonauts we also have the Odyssey which is according to me a wonderful movie. Homerus classical epos about Odysseus and the movements after the fall of Troy have been filmed in a magnificent way in the Odyssey. The gods make Odysseus and his men to puppets in a game. They push them to make long trips which delay their trip with years and bring them in conflict with Circe, the cyclope and Poseidon. Finally Odysseus even enters the underworld. In the meanwhile the wife of Odysseus, Penelope must get the men away from her, who want to have the properties of Odysseus. They think that he is dead, but with the help Athens he continues searching his way home. This movie receives from me a 8 out of 10 because it is an enjoyable movie which also gives you some history lessons, so 2 flies in 1 hit, a good movie and education. Well done !!!!!!!!!!!
