This show has some of the worst dialogue and crap acting I've seen in a long time. Why are the indigenous wearing beautifully 20th century machine stitched garments and clad in mod hippie jewellery? It's also hard to feel empathy/sympathy with such a huge collection of dumb-ass characters. Congratulations to the actor playing the wise older Apache chief who actually brings feeling to this unworthy piece of rubbish. Everyone else - especially the 'big' star cast can hang their heads in shame for the worst performances of their careers thus far. What has become of concepts like creativity, talent & originality? Nowhere is there any evidence of such bygone basic requirements. Why Kev, why???
Lots of quirky misfits in one office space headed by a weirdly aloof boss lawyer Mickey Holla. The deaths of his close associates barely evokes a reaction from Mickey apart from a slightly dazed, what-the!! Look on his face. In spite of this Manual Garcia-Rulfo has enough personal charm and charisma to make the show very entertaining to watch. His ex-wife and her old man Cisco are caricature people not quite dressed (costumed) correctly and consequently portraying nutty weirdos pretty well. Ditto for the beautiful lawyer girlfriend and the girl-Friday who dances. The disposable guest characters on the show really do the best and most memorable acting which maybe explains why they all get killed off early.
Who doesn't like a good ole adventure full of clichès, mishaps and hopefully - happy endings? Gemma Arterton is talented, pretty and easy to like except when she delivers OTT demos of clowning and crazy voices. I guess it's a directors decision to allow cast to overact and it's especially disappointing when good actors like her and Rupert Everett are given the green light go ahead. Rupert's Brian, the agent seems to be channeling Alistair Sim playing a weird, homeless character who is quite unbelievable and a tad repulsive. Fortunately the 2 male leads Tom Bateman and Arsher Ali give the show some semblance of sincerity without silly histrionics.
