I have not been to a movie in a while and I was not able to go due to medical conditions (at the time) , but I know Tyler Perry and I own all of his plays so I knew this would be great. Oh my God this is the best movie I have seen all year. Whether you know Tyler Perry or not from his famous gospel plays or not this movie is guaranteed to make you laugh, cry, think and wonder and definitely make you think twice about the way you treat others. Above all you will be happy if you go to see it or purchase it. Be ready to laugh though (my side hurt) The talent in this movie is just overwhelming. But the voices are even bigger with the music presented. Especially from little Tiffany Evans who is twelve years old but sounds 25. Tyler you are highly anointed my brother.

It was a pretty old school film. Most young adults wouldn't want to watch an old 70's film but this one's got some flavor for ya.The actors did a very good job. The cast was very well put together and the writing was great. I believe that putting Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier on the same screen was one of the best ideas Holly wood ever had. While the movie was serious a lot of the times it was funny as well. It gave me a chance to see some of my favorite actors and actresses from some of my favorite shows in their earlier years and stages of the screen.This movie was loaded with fun, laughs, action and drama. Action and drama, that's my kind of movie !
Oh my GOD ! I can truly say that Maya Angelou is one of the world's most intriguing and important people, especially of my culture. She is incredibly inspiring and her story is the story of a great woman ! When I first picked this movie up I thought to myself the cast was wonderfully put together now lets see them in action ! Maya Angelou is already my favorite PoetEss and now one of my favorite actresses and speakers. I believe she is the greatest of all time. This movie had me on the edge of my seat and reaching for Kleenex while at the same time reminding me that no matter where you come from if you decide that you are going to be great then you will be great ! And Ester Rolle played a wonderful supporting role...... 100% AWESOME...and now even "I know Why the Caged Bird Sings."
