Doom was one of the first k dramas I watched and I've seen it all the way through multiple times now. There's something about the chemistry and dynamic between the two leads that keeps me coming back.
I think it's one of the better dramas that builds and builds the tension between the leads and honestly it did a great job building tension for the b plot romance as well.
I actually really enjoyed the fantasy aspect of it and the fact we get to have our happy ending.
I'm one of those watchers who enjoys the brooding male lead so this one really did it for me. And the game the female lead plays with him is very satisfying in my opinion.

My jaw legitimately dropped on multiple occasions while watching this show. The ups and downs and twists were enough to give me physical and emotional whiplash but it was worth the entire watch. It's cute, romantic, thrilling, but also riddled with tragic moments. Classic kdrama; they're falling madly in love one minute then the next they're having a screaming match with their oppa in the kitchen.
The only thing this drama didn't have was fantasy. But love, mystery, heartbreak, and the thrill is certainly there.
I've watched a strong handful of these shows and this one has been the only one so far that had my jaw drop in shock from the twists. Some people complain about it being "slow" but I honestly didn't feel that way. On top of that I found the writing and the ending to be powerful despite the Shakespearean aspects.

You don't watch this movie to take it seriously. You watch this movie to make fun of it. The script is so beautifully terrible that it actually makes the movie quite enjoyable. How can you not laugh out loud at the dialogue, or the military cliches, the cheap set, or the obvious lack of firearm knowledge. Most of these actors look genuinely surprised they're on a film set. It's hilarious and amazing for so many reasons. I think Maya was given the script the night before they began filming and her producers said "just kinda like say these lines but with feeling" How do any of these very professional actors show up performing like their training was one theater class in highscool just so they could get the credit to graduate.
