Pariah is simply just another first person shooter with nothing that we have not seen before a million other times. This game although it is quite enjoyable to play and does have its moments I truly believe i didn't get my moneys worth. The game is built on the Unreal engine and it's quite noticeable, although the graphics are quite nice to look at the game play is stuttery and has somewhat jerky movements and just feels like it was not tested enough before it's release. Of course I have kept playing it and will finish it, but I simply feel like I am playing it just to get it over with (yes I'm that kind of gamer).
The storyline in this game is pathetic and not thought through or well written, with questionable cinematics to break it all up in between. The story stems around a virus thats been released in the not too distant future and is been kept alive though a female subject who finds it fun to run away all the time. So naturally half the game is spent trying to catch her again.
The weapons in the game have a neat little feature to have them upgraded when you pick up the little green floating weapon upgrade icons. Each one can be upgraded 3 times ranging from better sight on your sniper rifle to armour piercing bullets for your "bulldog" (standard machine gun). The weapon selection style is a somewhat different style where you have to hold down a button and let your thumbstick select which weapon you would like in the right direction (I will leave it up to you if you enjoy this style, I personally hate it).
Overall this game is a let down... Most of the levels feel like a halo ripoff with less excitement, which is portrayed even more in the way the vechiles drive (although I never did get caught up in the whole Halo thing).
Overall I suggest you don't bother with this one there are much better games out there that can do a better job entertaining us than this.
