The show is getting lamer by episode.
Doong a trope trial episode is just another low for them.
This season they seem to be in the wilderness just having a great time. Why are they not trying to get out or are found? They're not on LOST's island, for fork's sake.
The present storyline doesn't help either. They're not telling a story anymore, or going towards a point. They're just foing through the motions to keep doing episodes.
What a wasted opportunity, the show was great with its first season and now it's just a pale imitation of itself, on the verge of becoming a proper parody. They need to end it.

I love Niecy Nash and the gruesome murders, but the rest is a big "WTF is this"?
It's so tonally disjointed... It's typical Ryan Murphy nonsense after a couple episodes.
The nun, the priest, the nurse... Mr. Swift... That's just awful. Gimme more of Lois, Merritt and the actual investigation (without the absurd nun). That's good, but the rest is not.
Why can't he make a consistently good season anymore? It started off pretty good and began derailing by episode 3, with full of nonsense scenes, u intentionally funny ones... It's like he can't do a serious show anymore (it happened to Monsters Season 2 this year also).

Starting with the casting, which is atrocious (only Dakota Fanning is good for that role). Tom and Dickie, they're too old for the roles, they don't look like each other at all, no chemistry, no friendship between them, just dullness. And don't get me started with Freddie Miles, my god. Andre Scott is a good actor, but whomever though this was a good fit for the role, should be fired.
There's more substance, style and development in 2 hours of Anthony Minghella's movie than in 8 whole hours of this.
People calling this a masterpiece should watch the movie instead, it's better in every aspect.
